Posted at 19/1/2022 10:22 by texaspete2 BBC News ticker headline stating care home vacancies have doubled over past nine months... doesn't say what the number is though, but interesting trend which may play a part here. I was invested here and sold out at 570p.Can inflation costs be passed directly onto customers of CTH, anyone know? |
Posted at 13/1/2022 16:51 by sphere25 EssentialInvestor,This is the difficult thing at the moment. It is difficult to gauge inflation and how high these costs are spiralling relative to market expectations. Noticing alot of companies continuing to caution on costs including outright warnings like CARD today. If the FED have changed their viewpoint to inflation no longer being transitory, and interest rate expectations there have gone from no rate rises this year (about four months back) to now three (and even talk of four or five), how do us mere normal mortals work things through? Wonder how they unwind all the current stimulus, and then unwind the balance sheet, without causing a substantial sell off in all parts of the market. It will be interesting to see how inflation pans out with central banks having to go into reverse now. As for CTH, I just don't know enough deeply about each and every company so the stop will have to do its job. There has been alot of large notable buying here too, but clearly not enough to eventually outstrip the sellers, who have sold through them and caused the price to make another new low. Let's see what the next update brings and if there is another go here. Usually end up wandering off to a different part of the market when something else catches the eye though ha All imo DYOR |
Posted at 12/1/2022 14:06 by essentialinvestor Sphere, know this sector well and there are very significant staff recruitment issues. Is CTH immune from this?. That may arguably feed through to margins and capacity. |
Posted at 12/1/2022 13:59 by sphere25 I've got this wrong.Clearly too early and the market must be more concerned about the rising costs (on numerous fronts) than I anticipated. That is in spite of the recent report suggesting they were confident on the costs as well as the significant price correction already. But I won't fight the market. That is what stops are there for too. Happy to accept when something goes wrong. Possibly revisit this one. Been loitering mainly around the value plays (NRR, DLAR, SUP, MER, LOOK, SRC, SAA - trading in and out too) awaiting growth shares (just picked up a few CNIC) to come down for a nibble but clearly too soon at CTH. I thought it was value! All imo DYOR |

Posted at 17/6/2021 07:07 by 18bt Again, a set of results which has beaten expectations, notably on dividend. Full year expectations should be raised a bit. Forecast PE of 12.5 for a company which consistently meets or beats, grows its business, throws of decent free cashflow, some of which it invests wisely, looks v cheap to me. |
Posted at 18/6/2020 11:58 by essentialinvestor Not many companies paying a dividend atm, let alone increasing the payout by 7%. |
Posted at 18/6/2020 10:02 by essentialinvestor Very solid set of results. Continuing to take market share. Divi Up another 7%. |
Posted at 20/6/2017 13:47 by mfhmfh positive write up today by ST in IC.bullish article on CTH on triple i |
Posted at 20/6/2017 12:43 by thorpematt OK so I liked the statement and whilst it is tricky to pick oput growth rates when acquistions are present it does look relevent to increase target prices for future share price I really like the sector and the company's approach to it. Some news lnks:- |
