The bears seem to think they are in an exclusive club & are equipped with far superior knowledge than eveyone else. It's been easy to be a bear in a bear market but obviously telling from some of the posts they have been losing ltely.
Stop losses are almost useless when a stock can lose over 50% in one go - this bear market was virtually self created brought on by overcapacity caused by Y2k & the dotcom & telecoms boom.
We won't know for some months whether we are out of the rut, but it will come to an end eventually.

....once upon a time...there were eleven children....who were playing with their short ball....they were having a great time...passing the ball short for almost 2 years...they thought they were professional short ball players....until one day a great +ve wave came along....and playing short was no longer a wise move....but these eleven players did not want to listen to anyone else...and they became agitated for there were a number of people who were playing long balls and were more successfull than the short ball players..
...so the short ball players did not have much patience and decided to take away their short play tactics and went away to hide in their hotcave...alas people who have little patience and who cannot withstand criticism will not progress....the end result was that the short ball players like little children decided to take their ball and run.....if only they had a bit more bottle and patience ...they would have realised that the dow donkey was going to breach 6500 by october.....but alas....they went into hibernation into their hotcave....as the wise have said....no one is indispensable.....

i have applied under the name iraqnam

I remember about 18 months ago i started to short TAD at about 30p
ainnsop could not handle the stick and i think for a while they he and his cronies cleared off to MSN.In the meantime Tad halfed in 2 weeks.

I think Goodfella is the best trader i have even came across on any bb, and what i like most of all is he`s very approachable and willing to give his opinion.
I like every one off you guys

Good luck everyone

Troddy,

try this to post charts:

img src="the properties of the chart"

You need to put the following symols at the begining and at the end:

press shift and comma at the start, and shift and full stop at the end (the angle signs)

You can get the properties by right clicking on the image. Highlight them and then copy. Paste in between the quote marks. Hope it helps.

cheers

The fact is the bears called it wrong & are bit miffed - so instead of owning up & admitting it was a wrong call they try & blame 'invisible hands' 'the fed' 'uncle tom cobbly' 'next doors cat'.
I expect the Dow to take a dive, but this is still wide open & if the market was as predictable as some make it out to be then we would all have retired years ago.
Hopefully for everyones benefit we may be over the worst of the bear market - long or short it's a tough call in the long run.

Goodfella,
sorry to hear that you will not be posting as I followed your chartings and posts on the Champ thread, which eventually got me to start following this thread. Good luck with your venture.

Ape,
excellent work and there are some quality posters here. We all have to pay the price of background noise, but goes with the territory.

Personally, I find it too time-consuming to post and actively trade. However, I do admire the posters on this thread that treat trading with absolute seriousness and great professionalism.

Think it is time to start sharing some of my thoughts. Over the weekend I hope to post stocks I am looking to short soon. I will try and explain myself. Please give me your views.

I will start with WTB.

hitting major top @680, MACD broken down. RSI getting weaker. Risk reward good. Stops over 700 down side to 620-600 and possibly down to 580.

NO chart yet haven't worked that one out yet.

This was the post that made me feel that moregas is being elitest, and only accepting regular posters to the MSN group.

Before the post by moregas, I did not post on this topic. It upset me to see moregas deciding who can read what.

Moonblue had to step in and argue their case. He could do this because he is a regular poster.

who is troddy and stathis. Not trying to be awkward or aienate you but the reason for the Secure shorters is to keep it nice, peaceful and productive. Those that have applied and accepted are well known active thread posters so no probs there.
May as well get off on the right foot..

There is a traders chat room set up on www.chat2deal.com
I think it is free, UVC used to post her updates on there before she started posting on stockcharts.

Again a "learning lurker" on this thread. Big shame to see the good work you guys do by-passed because of the drivel posted by others. Would like to add commentary but need to sure of my facts first and make sure it is not drivel!!

Sorry guys, should have posted before applying. Have only posted a couple of times before, since I am still learning and can't spend all my time at the screen. Do read with avid interest and most on here have been a great help in guidence and ideas. Certainly want to become more active a beneficial to others.

Your call

Hey guys, don't all disappear into MSN nomans land. What about the lurkers? Might even chip in a sensible comment every now and then if I ever think of one.
