Not sure where you get that notion from Stig

I have made three investments directly into the company at 90p/share, 15p/share and 15p/share and I havent sold any of these and I am well under water with the investment. The cash has gone directly to the company, not to market makers, spivvy investors, traders or P&D mechants.

Avacta did an 18p placing just before announcing GE/Cytiva deal and a month later we're at 100p+

I fancy something very similar will happen here

Apparently it is an investor led fund raising. One of the larger investors who participated in the November placing would have purchased more at the time, but was constrained by fund rules. Presumably they no longer have that constraint, hence additional shares are being made available (at the same price as the November placing). The shares are EIS qualifying, therefore the cost (taking into account the EIS tax relief) is 10.5p/share for PIs like myself, so I am going for a small top up in the book build.

I dont really have an issue with the placing in terms of dilution. Covid-19 will no doubt have hampered negotiations on any new deals so if this gives them a little extra time then not the end of the world.
