Posted at 14/11/2018 13:48 by harrogate Don't !! The time has gone. I held from 2002 in the hope that they would sort Malta and they eventually did - not that it produced anything except a small special dividend. I was fortunate to sell the day that the planning and thus the sale was finalised and that has turned out to be the top. Now they are just a small mixed bag of assets and trading businesses that are best left to management to run in the comfort of their own board room. This time there is no big win that could change the outlook for minority shareholders |
Posted at 11/11/2018 17:28 by cjohn Hi callumross,This is a share I look at every year and decide against buying in, in spite of the discount to tangible assets. I don't think there'll be a special dividend. The exceptional profits were non-cash ítems; there's no standard dividend; and there's net debt. |
Posted at 03/8/2017 08:41 by rhomboid Results out today..no dividend but Charles Bailey has bumped his remuneration up from 145k to 385k so I guess he doesn't need a dividend as he's taking the cash out of the front door...uninvestable |
Posted at 21/12/2015 08:14 by harrogate I had begun to think I had done the wrong thing selling straight after the sale and missing out on the special dividend and the exciting new plans with the new board but I see they are still addicted to buying a ragbag of assets in strange disparate places with no commercial plan. Shame as they have thrown away the one chance of creating real value in my view - I see also that they didn't fell they needed to tell the shareholders through the year what they were buying but saved up all the news for the results - very shoddy I think and no sign of the new baileys here - I will try to make sure I am not tempted back whatever the share price does as it could be a very long haul now with no golden goose - in fact it could be never |
Posted at 21/10/2015 20:46 by mesquida Ex dividend tomorrow braham4. Will be interesting to see if the price is marked down by the full 20p. |
Posted at 18/3/2015 08:57 by harrogate They say it is better to travel hopefully than arrive - well we have now arrived and this is it. The question is at what level could the potential special dividend be set that would make the shares go up when we are told ( or down !) . As we all know we will get little of the cash and will be invested in a property and leisure company that we don't really understand with a small and struggling engineering group and some weird Bermuda investment arm that makes no money. |
Posted at 03/3/2015 14:04 by braham4 Well Harrowgate, here we go. Near your £2.5 not to far off from my £3. The spread says it all. Offloading will need caution. But I hope at last bye bye BLEY........ |
Posted at 23/2/2015 14:45 by harrogate I can't see the Malta deal bringing any surprises - the amount is known and in fact the € weakness means it is worth less to us now. Personally I would like them to use some of the money to do a tender offer to take some or most of us out - at say £2.50+. Better for tax than dividend and I don't really want them just to plough it into more engineering firms or African or Maltese assets that we really don't understand. As you say not long to wait now |
Posted at 23/2/2015 14:25 by mesquida True,braham4,the deal is conditional on planning permission, but the completion date was indicated as being 30th March, so it is possible that permission has already been granted. Not quite sure why you are so cynical as to whether us shareholders will see the benefit of the cash payment. After all, you could argue that we have already seen some of the benefit, with the share price having increased significantly over the past six months as a result of this property deal ! As a matter of interest what exactly are you hoping for ? A special dividend, or some sort of corporate development ? Myself I favour the second option. |
Posted at 26/12/2014 14:54 by braham4 Will see re Bermuda when next accts arrive. Wouldn't mind the re-investment of Malta if that was reflected in the dividend yield or NAV as if there were anything like a market in these shares we would see it in a sustained share price big rise but......But Happy New Year to all BLEY sufferers. |
