Vanadium prices will have to Increase further now with lower guidance as the market is already in a structural supply deficit

“Attain financial close and commence construction of the Vametco hybrid mini-grid”. And still we wait!!

“The Company is to grow its vanadium production to a production run rate of between 5,000 mtVp.a. and 5,400 mtVp.a. by the end of 2022, following completion of the refurbishment and ramp up of Kiln 3 at Vanchem, which is of a similar scale and capacity to Vametco, and will see Vanchem produce at an annual steady state production run rate 2,600 mtV”.

Which means that Vametco is forecast to produce only 2,400 mtv in 2022. FFS it’s meant to be delivering 3,750mtv in 2018 after the phase 2 expansion program.

The drop in production is equivalent to $3 drop in vanadium price so a vanadium price of $47 would make up for the shortfall in profit

Guidance reduced by cica 10% to 3,600. This reduces our annualised profit at current prices from 32m to 26m. We are being saved by the vanadium price

“Due to delays in securing steel supplies for the Kiln 3 refurbishment schedule, Vanchem's 2021 guidance has been revised to 1,100 mtV and 1,200 mtV, previously 1,400 mtV and 1,500 mtV”. It gets worse and worse.

“There were more unforeseen mechanical breakdowns after start-up”. Shambles.

Production guidance lowered yet again. The total guidance is now below the phase 2 expansion at Vametco and that’s with 2 plants.

Growth is now a long term goal.

More shares to Duferco which means dilution and then a drag on the share price

You know things are going to be bad when they start with their safety record as the main positive highlight.

Details of REIPPPP bid window 5 released:The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) convened a Bidders' Conference for the recently launched the 5th Bid Window under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). Hosted on a virtual platform, the conference was attended by more than 800 delegates, including registered and other interested bidders, project developers, financiers and energy sector stakeholders. The Ministerial Determination promulgated on 25th September 2020 calls for the procurement of 11 318 MW from a range of energy technologies, including Renewables, Gas, Storage and Coal, in line with the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP 2019). The 5th REIPPPP Bid Window is the first procurement bid window to be launched under this Determination, and will procure a total of 2 600MW from onshore wind (1 600MW) and Solar PV (1 000MW) plants. The IPP Office confirmed that IPP projects up to the maximum size of 75MW for Solar PV and 140MW for Wind projects will be eligible to bid in this window. The projects must be connected to the grid by no later than April 2024. The REIPPPP Bid Window 5 hopes to attract projects that are fully developed or near ready and that will be able to connect and supply power quickly, without requiring major works on the grid integration side. The next milestone of the REIPPPP Bid Window 5 is the bid submission date of 16 August 2021. Preferred Bidders are expected to be announced during October/November 2021, with commercial and financial close anticipated by March 2022.HTtps://www.energy.gov.za/files/media/pr/2021/MediaStatement-REIPPPP-Bid-Window-5-Bidders-Conference-26052021.pdf

Megaman....of course it is not true, these magic money trees never are. Just clever businessmen fleecing legally greedy P.is using faraway locations in covid times.

Just like SYME, EuA etc etc.

Far share price is hyped on the premise that they have found the holy grail and can mine v at zero cost. I'm not invested. If it's true the share price is valid if it's not the shares are worthless.

Drawing comparisons is not really illuminating.

If you are feeling a little blue being in the red with BMN then thank your lucky stars you are not invested in the FAR cash machine (no cash for PI's).

Their Blue Vision investors have the right and are enjoying it, to issue shares at 9p and sell them at 33p.

I would suspect currently very little in the large energy storage space. But the reason why this could be good news for V is that the lithium recycling industry and re- usage of Lithium could likely be expected to grow exponentially due to global demand for the stuff. Anything that might be seen to detract from the current 'go to option' for grid level energy storage, will help divert and focus attention on V as being the much better and safer alternative storage option ... and leave Lithium to enjoy its successes in the EV space.

Article on second-life Lithium batteries.Fri, 06/25/2021China is on the verge of banning the use of second-life lithium-ion batteries in large-scale energy storage systems (ESS) amid a spate of fires this year. The halt will continue until a "breakthrough in battery consistency management technology and a sound power battery performance testing and evaluation system" is developed, according to reports from China media group Caixing. The ceasing of secondary battery use follows the National Energy Administration issued a draft report 'Regulations for the Management of New Energy Storage Projects' on June 22.What capacity constitutes "large-scale" is not clear. The Caixing report stated: "According to industry sources, there are few energy storage projects that can be called cascade utilization of large-scale power batteries. In addition, the document does not specify the criteria for defining "large-scale" projects."The draft also proposes that completed and operating projects should be regularly evaluated and monitored, and supervision should be strengthened.Cascade utilisation generally refers to using a battery with less than 80% capacity in EESs for commercial and residential, and telecom base station applications. In January, an explosion at a China recycling plant owned by lithium-ion battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) killed one person and injured 19 more.In April, two firefighters died when they were putting out a fire in an energy storage power station in Fengtai District of Beijing, according to the China Daily news outlet.HTtps://www.bestmag.co.uk/content/china-verge-banning-large-scale-esss-using-second-life-lithium-ion-batteries

Well that could be a game changer for vrfbs. Would give massive impetus and is the kind of curve ball that would throw all my price targets etc out the window in a good way of course.

A post on LSE shows an article today from battery storage and energy news saying China about to ban lithium ion large scale energy storage due to fires. Important development as this will lead others to follow. Cannot do links as I on my iPad in Italy.

Looks like Bidden has got his $1.2trillion infrastructure bill ready to be passed. The largest boost in vanadium use in history just at the time storage takes off and also increases demand.

Are we in the right company at the right time? Only time will tell but we have a good chance.
