SP will rise to 240p without cutting divi if the results are ok.

i only hold these for the divi, easier stocks if you are looking for a bagger

Cut the dividend by 30% to a more manageable 5.2% yield, pay down debt with the extra liquidity, share price will rise accordingly, say £2.40/60 in current market conditions.

The weak £ and ultra low interest rates are a worry.
After years of Brexit chatter, we shall now see how strong the economy really is.
Boris now has the job he craved, lets hope he can deliver and Brexit works out ok.

I wouldn't right off Deutsche Telekom bidding for BT.
BT are so undervalued by the market.

We are all dreaming unrealistic expectations.

A dividend yield of 4% with capital growth of 4% would be a stellar return.
Especially when compered with a risk free return of about 1.5%.

Tesla Amazon, Bitcoin..never pay a dividend, massively overvalued, just crazy momentum investing.
the price goes up because there are lots of buyers.
Everyone feels so smug and smart, but what sort of asset is it that never pays a dividend, makes no profit, and collapses in price as soon as a significant number of holders wish to cash in their profits.
Tulipmania.

What an odd situation when the value of (say) Bitcoin goes up with buying and down with selling but probably worthless.

On a longer term discounted cash flow basis my current portfolio is massively undervalued.
Yet again the market misplaces shares.
..lucky for me.

Best thing for it, break it up, and hand the network over to all the other incumbents, let the Govt. have the pension fund, they have guaranteed it ultimately!

If BT cut dividend say 30% still around 5% yield, Vod did and not harm to shareprice.Still above FTSE 100 yield median.

Why will the figures be superb, monty?

What inside information do you have that the rest of us are not privy to?

Maybe divi cut news has leaked via brokers...the next big down move if were to happen will take it down to 110 - 120p...prolonging divi cut and shareholder value is eroded by the day...are the insiders any wiser...the CEO always leaves laughing all the way to his Bank...wake up and smell the coffee...mugs game..

Careful, best to firstly understand the effects of a strategy. For example, a decision to hold lots of cash restricts the opportunities to exploit situations, it doesn't enable them as you stated.

It's a cash cow, they can maintain the dividend no problem. But even a cut still way above the Ftse100 median.

Monty, unfortunately, went bullish on them.

Worry not, he may be an Uber bear in half an hour, and then it will recover.

I have a money tree.
It is called the stock market.

But be warned, you need the skill to know where the low hanging fruit lurks.
Too dangerous for most.
