14/5/2018 18:39 | You keep saying that EI but Royal Mail recently amended their pension plan and the share price shot up in a couple of months from 370p to 620p (+170%). A revision is always possible here also. BT's pension issues have been known about for DECADES - it is nothing new and the company are now taking significant measures to bring this down. Rising interest rates will also help bring down the pension deficit and worth checking the consolidated balance sheet for the year just ended - net equity/assets is up quite markedly to £10.3Bn. | justiceforthemany
14/5/2018 17:42 | I am just looking at taking the divis and that'll do for me, I can wait for the capital growth. No rush. Calling the bottom is an impossible art, so it's just a case of if you are happy with the price you pay now? It's down to the individual I guess. | hamhamham1
14/5/2018 17:39 | Justice, may be worth keeping in mind net debt is around 50% of their market cap. That's before considering years of heavy pension contributions ahead, so P/E looks too rudimentary a valuation metric. | essentialinvestor
14/5/2018 17:36 | I might buy few of these | declan2
14/5/2018 17:30 | A P/E of 7 is far too low for a FTSE 100 £22Bn Market Cap Telecoms giant. Final dividend 10.55p coming soon/Yield 5% alone. | justiceforthemany
14/5/2018 17:08 | Sub-200 is a knocking bet this time round - got away with it last time, but think that continued bad news (or at least a lack of anything significantly positive), has made sure this will be heading towards 160-180 over the next few weeks. Keep your powder dry folks! | eisler
14/5/2018 16:46 | Gone long, looks oversold imo, its not like BT are going bust is it! 300p will do me. | kmann
14/5/2018 16:37 | your not wrong there martin | colonelgrim
14/5/2018 16:19 | If these continue to perform as the have over the last few days/ weeks and months the dividend will be worth more than the stock! | samartin
14/5/2018 15:34 | M, some of his better recent calls have been exits,, he sold out of BATS at over £50 as a recent example. | essentialinvestor
14/5/2018 15:25 | You don't need a landline for virgin fibre bb | mbmiah
14/5/2018 15:05 | Essential Hi. Yes, Woodford timed this perfectly. I wonder if he would buy back for income only? | minerve
14/5/2018 15:03 | I question that logic by the analyst at Numis. 1st: Premium content is transient and comes at a price. You don't get it for free. 2nd: "Cheaper and faster than its competitors" - so why not the case now? It is the most expensive and one of the slowest. 3rd: FMC? Who wants that? People either remain on cellular indoors or switch to WIFI/VPN and switches within business can already do that anyway. Seems to me that FMC is a USP - but a USP with little premium value. | minerve
14/5/2018 14:58 | Landlines will always be around I think for home and office (for the internet). But integration with your mobile makes sense as well as the individual growth of mobile data usage as well, hence why EE purchase is a good move: "It (EE) is the largest mobile network operator in the UK, with around 30 million customers and the largest operator of 4G services in Europe." | hamhamham1
14/5/2018 14:49 | FMC?, The numbers of people using landlines is dwindling fast. | essentialinvestor
14/5/2018 14:08 | Charles - You r right. But could not resist the recent drop and 7% yield. You may say it is Greed. | action

14/5/2018 13:30 | not in RBN. Waited to top up BT from Original holding last year at 331p. | action
14/5/2018 13:18 | BT is one of those companies whose sum of parts greatly exceeds the market valuation. If this is going on the market I am backing up the truck | charles clore |
