As a few of you have been asking me to update the significant levels after the recent market gyrations, the lower gap at 186.05p from 3/2 was taken out first thing yesterday morning as we gapped down from Wednesday’s close of 197.0p. This looks to now being re-visited so hopefully will serve as some support.

The next gaps to the downside are at 181.05p and 179.6p, from 17/1 and 14/1 respectively. Let’s hope they don’t come into play any time soon.

Other target levels to note are the recent intra-day high of 201.4p from 17/2 and the recent closing high of 200.9p, which will obviously need a bit market confidence re-build before we make a serious assault on them.

Good luck everyone, please keep safe and well, Sid.

DIPSO: You have to weigh your avaerages by quartile volitility.
Eg is BT going well for a volitile (lots of traders) stock?

Clearly Drahi is wanting to increase his stake here but is not wanting to pay top dollar. Hence the fluctuation in share price This was happening pre Ukraine troubles.

Nige: Interesting that the declarations of substantial trades appear to be timed for 12.00 to 13.15hr range ? as for the share price that also appears to be range bound between 190 to 200 . Have a nasty feeling that thee is more downside to come from the Ukraine crisis. Market reaction at present appears very much like 'fiddling whilst Rome burns'. Clearly Nero is alive and well!

Nige : Are you sure that's a buy ? Reported at 13.13.51 at 194.4. Bid did dip into the 1993s earlier in the day so it is possible but wouldn't that size of purchase likely carry a premium ?

There was a large 38 million off book trade reported on Friday. My guess is Drahi further stake-building.
