It’s good to see BT hitting another recent intra-day high earlier this morning at 199.5p, the highest level since last June. Hopefully we’ll be back to re-test that mark, later this afternoon, when the American markets open.

Unlike a few of you on here, I don’t really see 2 quid as a major target price, as these levels aren’t that significant to those that matter in moving the share price, i.e. the institutions, fund managers, etc.

The levels I’m targeting more are last years’ intra-day high of 206.6p and closing level of 205.6p from 16th June. Once those marks are bettered, I have great faith that we could move rapidly higher up to a trio of gaps in the 250-260p region. Let’s hope that’s the way forward.

Reading from that link post 43354 below...so in 2012 the price was 214p and in 2016 price hit 500p if I remember correctly...morale of story is anybody who sold under say 500p having had a good run up from 214 would have been wiser...it also says shares are not for keeps...a bit like a football you kick it to a wall and it bounces back to you...FTSE still closer to Y2000 after all these years unlike other indexes...FTSE is a distorted index...and don't tell me the usual adage its because of Miners and dollar earners...





Reviewing the performance of BT shares
Going back to February 2012, BT shares were trading at around 214p. Today, it sits at 193p. So, that’s a 10% decline over 10 years. For comparison’s sake, the FTSE 100 index has delivered gains of 29% over the same period.

I think yesterday was a buying opportunity rather than a time to bail. From a charting perspective I don't see a reason to have sold.
