14/12/2021 09:01 | Doesn't it give him more leverage to trade both ways now...lend shares to short/long?...in the process make money whilst sitting on stake... | diku
14/12/2021 08:59 | So now he has bought more stake the market don't want him to be in profit so mark it all down again... | diku

14/12/2021 08:54 | I’m with my learned friend Nige Co on this one – Drahi isn’t a billionaire for nothing, I’m sure he’s far cleverer than any of us and knows exactly what he’s doing, even if buying a share at 178p one day and seeing them trade at 166p the next doesn’t look like it at first glance. He’s obvious seen the potential in BT and made a substantial financial investment in their stock, he doesn’t have to make a bid to make good money here. It’s interesting he’s pushed his stake up to 18%, as it now makes Deutsche Telecom’s 12% stake even more important. That could well be his next purchase, keeping it just under 30% so he isn’t forced to make a full bid. For those doubters, try not to worry unnecessarily, forget the daily price moves and check back in a couple of month’s time, there are interesting times ahead. Good luck everyone, Sid. | eaaxs06
14/12/2021 08:52 | nigewhy?the declaration will stave off the govt intervention and reduce the share price so more can be acquired..win winnothing is really off the table after the declaration? in any case this is a multi year project, the same traders who sold at 110 are trading again today and they will be trading again at 350p...you can do worse than be in a year before a billionaire... | stansmith3

14/12/2021 08:39 | BT Slips 5% After Patrick Drahi Raises Stake to 18% 12/14/2021 | 08:25am GMT (MT Newswires) -- (Updates company's share price movement) Patrick Drahi's Altice UK on Tuesday confirmed that it has no intention to make a takeover offer for BT Group (BT.A.L) after raising its stake to 18% in the British telecommunications giant from 12.1%. The statement follows Altice UK's acquisition of an additional 585,476,188 shares in BT. Drahi noted that it remains in constructive discussions with the board and management of BT regarding the group's strategy to expand access to a full fiber broadband network. Separately, BT said its board and management will continue to run the business "in the interest of all shareholders," with a focus on implementing its strategy. BT shares declined more than 5% on Tuesday's open. | sarkasm

14/12/2021 08:35 | netwindows It's probably because Digital secretary Nadine Dorries has called in BT chief exec Philip Jansen to discuss its potential takeover by the French-Israeli billionaire, Patrick Drahi, this coming week. That probably implies the UK government and OFCOM would block any takeover approach. hxxps://www.cityam.c Good luck everyone, Sid. | eaaxs06
