Nut cases selling, panic sell he’s not taking it over today he’s only bought £3bn worth of shares in this company, he’s not spent any money on research and he’s only done this many times before and is clueless, no he’s spent a fortune on research, he knows there’s a lot of value and is probably planning on making multiple times his investment, if someone is willing to put £3bn into the shares of one company ask your self should I put 3k 30k 300k 3m? well if he’s good you can’t go wrong, if he’s bad he’s losing a lot more than you all imho dyor oh and I’ll be surprised if it’s not higher by the end of the day

The real price should be £4 per share, but he will try and get BT for as little as he can.

He’s clearly going to buy this no one spends £3bn because he thinks they may go up 10%, if your doing that you buy Apple or similar so you can easily sell them, he’s obviously happy mopping up shares in the open market, for argument sake let’s say he has to pay £5 per share for the last 70% he’s saved himself £6bn if it was you would you drag it out over 12 months to save £6bn, yes so would I

It will be interesting to see what happens on Friday, when the monthly Equity Options expire.

There are two weighting call options in there totalling 50,000 contracts at 170p and 220p. I'm sure they're connected in some way.

Good luck everyone, Sid.

It’s a smoke-screen. All it needs is one of his pals to drop a derisory bid and it is game-on (as the rules allow a takeover to progress if someone else makes an offer).

I’ll repeat what I asked originally, when he bought his first 12.1%; where did the shares come from, and who sold them? I’ve yet to read a believable answer to that one.

To purchase 1.8 BILLION shares takes some doing, with a very large seller. You don’t build up a stake like that by normal trading this year, when the volumes were nothing out of the ordinary.

Good luck everyone, Sid.

They were already bought - only recorded at lunchtime.
I was a off book trade using a broker .
Probably accumulated over several weeks and only recorded yesterday.
It's good this time they are ordinary shares and not derivatives.

Acquisition of DT position would now take him to just over 30%.
I suspect that's why 18% was the magic number for now.

He can still buy more shares just can’t launch a bid, but one of his friends can when he has got to his 29.9%

Not really.
He has bought time to address any Government objections and flush out any other interested parties.
At the moment the DT position is not for sale? - That would be a material change.
He is now in prime position as the largest shareholder to control things.

Could that 300 million trade be a sell and that it was a fund selling into the rally that we have had? And would explain the weakness yesterday?
