Midas verdict: BT has been a dog but, with the price at 210¼p, now is not the time to sell. Long-suffering shareholders should stick with the group and see if the price improves once a new boss is appointed. Several top stockbrokers even rate the shares a buy.

That's some commitment from the new no nonsense chairman, 700,000 thousand pounds worth of shares.Half a million were bought at 255p.They won't cut the dividend, they won't increase it just keep it the same.Raising US rates helps pension liabilities with higher yielding bonds.

DIRECTOR DEALINGS: BT Group Says Chairman's Associate Bought Shares

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed BT Group PLC said Wednesday that Magdalena Du Plessis, a person closely associated to Chairman Jan Du Plessis, and Non-Executive Director Nick Rose bought 100,000 shares each. On Monday, Magdalena Du Plessis acquired the shares at 204 pence each in a deal worth GBP204,000. Rose also acquired the shares at the same price.

When stocks do bottom after a long down trend they often experience a period of low volatility where they go from sellers calling the shots to a more neutral situation and after that hopefully a more sustained move up.Think patience will be required here.IMO.

Du Plessis is not the first and certainly will not be the last incoming Chair, CEO, Director to buy shares in his/her company. Let's hope the Q1 update in July is good news.

Taking a breather before next push towards 225p. A lot of good news stories for BT. 10.55p dividend ex August still to come.With the new chairman buying 700,000 pounds of stock, shows confidence.
