Thought it was too good to be true when we touched the giddy heights of 154 this morning

I think the Alliance brothers will be holding until the day they kick the bucket.

If they wanted to sell out to a VC group they could do it tomorrow at this level as the purchase could be underwritten by the loan book.

The Alliance brothers still have 44%+. They must be pushing for change or can give any interested bidders a big helping hand.

Happy to sell you mine for a 5% yield to allay your fears

I must say I am very tempted but that near 10% yield is screaming stay away to me.

But even the cautious Graham Neary on Stockopedia thought they might be cheap ( hxxps://www.stockopedia.com/content/small-cap-value-report-fri-15-june-2018-rec-nxr-bpm-gym-bwng-374429/) and that finance book could more than offset debt, subject to it's credit quality.

Dont think i have ever seen a decent size company decimated by such constant small trades

2p taken off the bid by trades of 677 404 242 80 113 68 41 24 304 404

All confidence in the company seems to have gone and the algos can run riot

I still don't see where this is going. I'd be tempted to perhaps take a small stake at this price but on the other hand we could be seeing a proper re-rating given the business is shrinking itself. Tough call, still watching.

Bid side a lot stronger today, but I will reserve judgement on any turning point, as it could just be shorters squaring some positions on the last day of week

I correct myself 5 years ago, how can Spindler remain in this role? Because her bonuses are not based on performance?

Shares £6 4 years ago when COO took over reins, now less than £1.60. What is happening to this company?

It could be either way around.
And there’s someone else on the other side of the trade, every sell is bought by someone

You beat me to it re that late trade....in fact nearly 230k went through after the UT

If im missing something re the way the broking system works, then can someone please educate me...These trades are so significant that we need to know whether they are buys/sells

Is it that someone says to their broker i want 150k shares at the lowest price possible, and they then spend the day pushing the price as low as they can to fill the order?

Or is the exact opposite?

I wouldnt normally ask, but we spend the whole day getting shafted by the AT algos, and then these off-book trades show up. It kinda makes a mockery of the system

big late reported trade showing after hours. 150,000 at 156p.

very bullish intra-day move up to 159p. its a good sign we're at or close to bottom IMO. hopefully next week will be a good week for BWNG. today was a flat day (at best) for most stocks.

Selling really accelerated in last hour, but then snapped back in the closing auction

Thought we had the makings of a bounce this morning, but that has fizzled out on the back of persisent SETS activity

Either someone is in the know, or its technicals driven, based on a break of 160

Trebled my holding. Seems to be in silly valuation territory especially for an online retailer.

Good lucky city !

In the past I have traded N Brown as it can offer some good movement.

It obviously looks low however I'm not buying yet as I wonder if a profit warning is coming.

Tough one to call but all the best.

wee top-up at 154.2p. thats me done, no more money i'm maxed out to the limit here. i think this is due a bounce. when it comes i think it will be big. maybe 20-30p.

^ my thinking. It *should be* fairly straight forward to report an increase in last year's figures.

I do agree that the last accounts were disappointing, however:

(i) Increase in debt is linked to the increase in the customer loan book

(ii)Loss last year was caused primarily by the legacy mis-selling provision

Not making excuses for management, as the acceleration in selling could mean someone has got whiff of something bad, however nothing we know of *so far* justifies a plummet to these levels imho

The distinguishing feature of this company was that it sells outsize clothes which are difficult to stock in the high street because few people require the very large sizes, or are too embarrassed to shop for them in public. When this was a catalogue company, it had a high barrier to entry, due to the costs of running a catalogue, and the IT systems to support it. In the internet age, it is much easier for a competitor to move into this space with a website and off the shelf IT.

Balance sheet puts me off here.

Profits have dipped significantly in recent years yet debt is still large, toxic combo.

Also like most CEO's she talks a good game but she doesn't seem to be doing a great job, all this business seems to do is drive revenues higher but profits diminish, not a great way to run a business, turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.
