Surely it must be difficult to get any of them wrong, if you have a following and publicise 'buy' or 'sell' recommendations in small cap stocks? The low liquidity will result in a move in the direction wanted by the writer. It's so easy.

The problem for followers is that they will not normally be able to buy or sell at the price prevailing immediately before the publication.

Have you ever tried to sell a small cap stock at a time when there are lots of sells hitting the market?

Finally, I just don't understand the motivation of the writers. If I were such a great predictor of share price movements, what would I do with my time? Would I ....(A) Spend my time investing my money to the best of my ability? Or, (B) Spend my time writing about my ideas and letting others make money?

Yes, they can't get them all of them right. But Smit got too carried away here for reasons I cannot understand. There may be a time to re-enter but staying on the watchlist for now

Ta, Aishah. :-)

Shame on SCSW. They misjudged their call and to save their own face they now want to blame the CEO. That is my interpretation.

If SCSW's writers were to look back at the plan, as orginally set out by the CEO, and allow for the difficult time all clothes retailers in the UK have been having over the past couple of years, then they would surely have to conclude that the CEO was doing a very difficult job in difficult times.

FWIW, I have been impressed with Angela Spindler. Would I sack her? No chance! However, I would cancel my subscription to SCSW - if I had one!

SCSW comments:
"Although the shares climbed following the interims, it seems that CEO Angela Spindler is now in the last chance saloon. Management says that despite the headwinds they remain comfortable with forecast eps of 22.5p for the full year but BWNG has begun to deliver ‘stub’ years a little too often. Await developments."

My view is the language in the last trading RNS suggested the next one might contain the phrase "below expectations", and the longer the pound stays down, the more likely this is, so I remain out until the next update.

It would have been more prudent to postpone the dividend, but certain egos need protecting... One can always announce a special dividend once the choppy waters have cleared?

anybbody can make sense of peel hunt suggesting sell

Shares in beleaguered budget fashion retailer N Brown (BWNG) have enjoyed a relief rally this morning thanks to a better than expected set of results. Profits for the first half are well down on last year, but ahead of analysts’ expectations. Regardless, brokerage Peel Hunt isn’t convinced. It said continued margin pressure would lead to further downside risk to current profit forecasts. We’re inclined to agree. Sell.
