Just like the recent BAG update , FEVR has come out with the "unseasonably poor weather in the UK" ... shares -5% at present. |
Britvic has hired two PR agencies for new briefs, with Tin Man becoming brand PR agency for J2O and Cirkle awarded the soft drinks firm's first ever consumer press office retainer. |
The share price here hasn't looked good since we hit repeated tops during spring. Would not be surprised to see a fallback to around the 825p level where support should start to build. |
Seems so. Note from RBC mentions Britvic, courtesy of FT Markets Live:
"Given Britvic’s significant exposure to the UK soft drinks market (60% of sales) we think this is a negative readacross. We expect Britvic to be similarly impacted by poor weather, tough comparatives (predominantly in GB Stills) and weak trading in the impulse category (a direct impact of poor weather in our opinion) although not necessarily the brand specific issues that AG Barr refer to. We note that comparatives are easier in GB Carbonates given the CO2 shortage last year."
Valuation here doesn't look quite as stretched as BAG was so hopefully any bad news won't be met with quite as negative a reaction, but who knows. |
Read across from BAG profit warning ? |
Britvic is to spend GBP3m (US$3.7m) on a UK campaign for PepsiCo's Lipton Ice Tea to help boost sales during the summer selling season. |
Nice divi into the account this morning :-) |
A pledge by Boris Johnson to launch a review into the so-called sin taxes on products high in salt, fat and sugar if he wins the contest for leader are likely to boost shares in UK drinks makers, ABFoods, Fevertree, AG Barr and Britvic. Some dealers see the shares rising as he would look into whether or not the levies "unfairly hit those on lower incomes" even amid pressure to put taxes on high salt and fat content. |
