Yes 8.9% yield ex dividend not long away, plus payday couple of weeks, with dividend reinvestment kicks in, we don't need the price to high on that day, lol |
oh lovely....you can stick imb ;-] |
Big bounce coming boys. |
Nice boost, should take Bats up on sentiment. |
PM opened 6% higher in the US on their results. |
To me raising vaping tax, easy target.https://amp.theguardian.com/society/2024/oct/18/rachel-reeves-considers-raising-tax-on-vapes-in-autumn-budget |
Very possibly. |
So have we Bats up from 2325p plus dividends, see what Reeves does to capital gains tax, could be a market sell off, investors taking profits in this tax year. All will become clearer next week. |
At a guess people may be selling off IMB before the budget. The6 have capital gains to consider over there 😀 |
Should have checked the charts! |
Must admit I thought Bats would be down same percentage as Imps. |
not today lol |
im thinking IMB is safer but |
Charts are not useless, just another investment tool you need to make a investment judgemental, you would play a round of golf with just a putter.Bats for me if they stop buybacks for 2025, that would be a major disappointment for me and I would sell, especially after this Canadian fiasco. |
Lol. Yeah, it does seem to be happening more quickly :) To the poster who suggested that charts are pointless...will have to agree to disagree. GLA. |
Maybe they are pointless but that does not stop them looking ugly.
BATS is tanking and has tanked ex div. |
" 'what is the difference between a conspiracy theory and a fact? About 12-18 months'"
Erm, isnt it more like 8 weeks these days! |
Charts are pointless |
Chart is looking ugly. |
As the saying goes: 'what is the difference between a conspiracy theory and a fact? About 12-18 months'. |
Currently every aspect of our lives is monitored. The state uses its many levers to control their narrative and basically surpress the will of millions of British people. The media is completely manipulated and can only report the 'news' from the 'correct angle'.If you think we live in a free democracy, you need to wake up. None of what I have said is conspiracy theory but current reality. Anyway bats is weak at the moment and we all know that. Hopefully sentiment will change soon. It nearly always does. |
We are already less free than at any point in my life to date. For a variety of reasons, this trend looks set to continue, until hopefully enough Brits decide that enough is enough. One of Ataturk's many wise quotes comes to mind on this front. Given our weather and high tax regime, we really need to reverse this trend PDQ, or the benefits of remaining here, versus going to an established dictatorship that at least offers superior conditions on those fronts (not to mention a far better way of dealing with actual criminals), will be entirely negated. |
Monty, is the last thing we need from a liberal society. The worst case scenario is we evolve to a dictatorship and we see good examples around the world. This must be resisted. back to BATS, I bought a few on Friday near the day low, I didnt expect the opportunity, but welcome GLA |
Do we want a nanny state telling people what to do, no smoking, no drinking, no gambling. We may see 2550p with budget coming. |
They were called coffin nails even before WW1 started. Some people may have chosen to ignore the logical realities of smoking, and there were some corrupt doctors who took Big Tobacco money to spread misinformation to counter these logical realities in the olden days, but that does not change the fact that people should have taken responsibility for their own choices and therefore, I think that all cases past, present and in future, where these companies are having to pay out billions, are fundamentally wrong. Anyway, it is what it is and I am glad to be out of this one for now, but if we see a return to those multi-year lows again, I may look to ladder back in. Albeit with the expectation that at some point we might be able to buy at 20-ish. Maybe a little lower. Then perhaps a new range trade back to the 24's or so, with a decent dividend to accompany the capital gain on route. If it does not happen, then I will wish you all well and be satisfied with the cap gains and divs I enjoyed from my previous time in this name. GLA. |
