Buy Bats like no tomorrow, nice headland in this recommendation.https://www.fool.com/investing/2024/10/08/4-reasons-to-buy-british-american-tobacco-stock-li/ |
It's a shame FTSE 100 off big time, Bats would have been 2730p on Imperial superb update. |
IMB share price about to catch up with BATS lol |
Yes a happy holder over there and here too despite the recent dip. Did think the IMB results may have given BATS more of a lift though but I guess it is a risk off day.
Good luck all 👍🏻 |
Superb trading update from imperial, Bats should be back over 2700p very shortly. |
Looks like yields going up in bonds US, I get 4.5% on cash dollars, Robin Hood account, also no commission, buying or selling, no stamp duty. UK platforms better watch out when they start dealing U.K. shares. |
Maybe but also it's gone through it's recent divi climb and now is out of favour on that front.
With a divi every 13 weeks though it won't be long before the next one starts bringing in buyers. That's my thoughts anyway.
Good luck all 👍🏻 |
Very difficult to judge where this going. It looked this morning as if it was heading north. I waited until the US market had opened and the ADR was up but has now fallen back. I guess its all the negative stuff about smoking reductions and vaping bans that is keeping investors away |
Beware dead cat bounce. |
Bght some . |
They do indeed monty. Reported today that companies are holding back from hiring more staff awaiting what Reeves' budget may add on top of the suggestions already.
If only that budget was in two days rather than 23. |
I think it's just the indices, October can be a strange month, plus what's Reeves going to do. Investors hate uncertainty. |
Wave going short and Bat buying own shares ... not sure what is the problem ? Seems very undervaluedIn my opinion |
MC: anhar, no disrespect intended, but how long have you been investing?
Since forever. But have been following my long term hold, diversified port, income strategy for "only" a few decades. |
and Israel will do its thing very shortly. |
Market moving event for you traders, 1.30pm uk time US jobs report, but being a trader I suppose you already know that, lol. |
Look most of us in at 2400p ish we have had 235p in dividends not too bad, ok if we fall to 2625p still ok. |
It's the October sell off, not the best month for shares, especially with this Labour budget, what's robber Reeves going to do. |
Absolutely spot on Kernelthread brokers are clueless |
These analysts and brokers generally come up with ex post facto rationalizations for what's already happened rather than giving any useful information about what might happen. How many times do you see brokers downgrading shares when they've already dropped or upgrading them when they've already risen? Might as well flip a coin for it. |
anhar, no disrespect intended, but how long have you been investing?
I ask as I value your input. Although I developed a client holding valuation system for a broker back in about 1984 it’s really only in the last five years I have been seriously investing. |
Just seen this on my ii email newsletters |
It does, thought about adding to portfolio, for me not yet. Figures from US tomorrow I want to see what they look like and how they affect sentiment for the Dow and FTSE. |
