one of the best baskets though |
It's trying to second guess the market. in and out. Some you win some you lose. If only we had a crystal ball. Budget coming up, this that and the other negative. Anyways I am holding firm. Not wanting to get any more mind as fully loaded here. Too many eggs innone basket and all that |
Yes was 2400p but we have had dividends. I like Bats but just feel market due for a correction. Could we see 2450p - 2475p who knows. |
A few months ago this was 2400 and yes we have dropped from 3000 but that is the market. Don't expect a 1 way ticket upwards. There are always negatives and positives. Same with any company. I am holding firm and seeing the glass half full. |
It was the Nielsen report showing 11% drop in cigarette volumes that poleaxed this. Combine that with ever-increasing measures against tobacco and vape use by Western politicians and the future looks less rosy. Cash generation is still good now but the problem is how long will that remain the case? |
The share price tells a story dictated by the market. Revenue tells a different story, with massive cash inflows. No reason to cut the dividend. Buying at the bottom of this fall looks sensible to me. pete |
Great buying opportunity atm 9% paid every 3 months if your compounding your divi in shares its a winner...
That's true, long run, only if the price rises or remains roughly static. If it falls over time, depending by how much, then it may well be a loser. A further risk is that divis can be cut.
So it's quite wrong to claim I think, as though it's certain, that the share is a winner due to compounding divis. It may or may not be but there are no sure things. |
Bailey hinting at mpre aggressive rate cutting by BoE. Good news for BAT divi |
You're right, I can't believe how much FTSE100 has held up. Problem being like I said good, bad and ugly all get hit in a sell off. |

Bloomberg reporting a double downgrade to sell from Morgan Stanley |
Market weak 2625p to 2675p perhaps new trading range, we have had ex dividend. |
The reason IMB is outperforming is because its combustibles are mostly successful in developing and third wold countries. Their market is still robust there as they are cheaper brands on the whole. |
Wtf is going on with BATS?
If you look at the relative performance against IMB over the last few weeks, it doesn’t make any sense! |
,,, don´t think opening drop is from BBC news, IMB is up! BATS oversold here. |
Respiratory consultant on BBC news talking about Vaping concerns and risks to previous non smokers taking it up. It will be interesting to see if we get more of these type of news bytes ahead of the budget. |
Nasty downtrend established. So much for safe haven during choppy waters! |
Fingers crossed problem is good, bad and ugly all get hit if a market sell off. |
bats a good defensive home in scary times? |
FTSE 100 looking weak, must be the budget what is Reeves going to tax next. |

The phantom downticker strikes again, why do it on every post and other threads, strange person, like me you pay for premium service, I suppose you feel like getting your moneys worth. |
Played golf today, conversation seems to be everyone worried what Reeves going to do to pensions, savings, cgt, etc. |
