Played golf today, conversation seems to be everyone worried what Reeves going to do to pensions, savings, cgt, etc. |
There's always one clown on these boards who doesn't have a scooby-doo what they're talking about.I posted 5/9 saying i'd sold 25% of my holding and my intention to sell half before the US election.I sold my other 25% the day before ex-div day at 2830p fyi.I don't BS like some people |
oh my another sold in the PAST at much higher price.PRICELESS |
Sold half my holding prior to the ex-div date.Waiting for the UK budget on 30th Oct and the US election result early Nov.If Trump wins then i will probably reinvest depending on what Reeves does around unearned income like dividends. |
Not too bad ex div 58.88p in the bag and finished equivalent to 2821p.Happy with that. |
Ah thanks topafrenzy. So tomorrow will be interesting. |
Ex Divi in the US is tomorrow not today |
The ADR has been moving up since the US market opened. Looks quite strong upward movement. I'm tempted but ...... |
2650p way it's going, but most of us in around 2350p plus dividends. |
you could say the same about sunak...a combo of an ex trader and a wife who thinks getting pocket money equated to about 10 million quid |
at this rate no idea hold a load of these so ive been hit hard ...i factored a 40-50p drop but its more than double that as i speak |
Wow good job i didn't buy this morning at 2770. What thoughts on the bottom? |
Ball Deep if you are a member let me know your party membership as the party conference voted against it am sure I can get your membership revoked
On Bats the decline is only short term as this share has been bought some share Michael Burry is one bought more for his own portfolio and ITC hotel float plenty to look to
Happy Investing |
Although all BAT's sales are outside the UK it is listed on the FTSE so presumably if there is a windfall tax on tobacco companies, because its a UK listed company, BAT will have to pay the windfall tax. Thats an excellent reason to relocate from the FTSE to the US |
I am a Labour Party member of many years now, I agree with sir Kier the pensioners didn't need the WFA, they are all rich anyway driving around in their Japanese cars. |
keeps droppingggggg....ouch |
I think odds on vaping tax coming. I think tobacco tax always rise by inflation I think. |
BATS should move to the US for sure if Trump wins
It's US investors that are not bothered about tobacco companies being harmful etc, they are not idiots like British funds are, they want returns and not just moral nonsense |
Welcome to Stammers grey planned economy Marxist Britain...
Starmer a marxist? That couldn't be further from the facts. He's more Tory than most of the previous Tory government and imo should be standing as a candidate in their leadership contest.
A mate, lifelong Tory, said to me after the election that he voted Labour for the first time ever because he wanted a proper Tory government to replace the faux Tories we had.
As for smoking, it was those pseudo-Tories who proposed a gradually increasing age ban on buying cigs, so that eventually someone aged 100 could buy them but not a 99 year old, or some such mad scheme. Though re BATS, they have little UK presence as said above. |
BATS off today on XD, no surprise there, but on a 1/3/5yr overlay still very much the laggard compared to rest of the field PM, MO, IMB, ITC, TYO.. |
fast food causes obesity which causes massive 10% mhs cost more than smoking so tax the problem at its heart the fast food companies..
i notice no mention of that.. |
