Jumping ship all the time is a stressful business and hard to time. |

Burberry is another one in the UK that I am watching but waiting for sub 500 |
If the buybacks have finished here for 2024 then this will drift down for sure imo |
if youre hunting divvis...BP...BT PHNX MNG HSBA even NESF IMHOnot sure theyre better but im a bit overweight here so..mind you divvi thurs take your choice |
In the US:
Intel, Walgreen Boots (huge dividend but may be cut), Estee Lauder ...
More risky is Teladoc but seems to have bottomed
In the UK: BRWM for miners
Then the luxury brands in the EU such as Kering
With the Pound so strong they are even cheaper for us |
#9772 ''...........but there are better opportunities out there for the time being......''
Like where? |
#Nellynell, edited, that was the next part of my maths.. :o) |
Think that figure is out of date now LLB up till and including 20th Sept over 21m shares have been repurchased and cancelled |
Hopefully we move up & over £30, history shows that September is usually a bad month for shares. |
25.07.2024 - further to the share buyback programme announcement on 18 March 2024, the Company announces that it has entered into an irrevocable, non‐discretionary agreement with, Goldman Sachs International to purchase ordinary shares of the Company commencing on 25 July and ending on 14 October 2024.
BAT is a highly cash generative business, and we are committed to continuing to reward shareholders with strong cash returns. We have made progress in enhancing financial flexibility, enabling the initiation of a sustainable share buy-back programme.
The initiation of a sustainable share buy-back programme, with GBP700M in 2024 and 900M in 2025
15M ordinary shares have been repurchased H1 to end of 30 June 2024 (GBP390M spent) 6.5M purchased to 20.09.2024 (GBP175M) 21.5M total approx GBP565M with 135M remaining to spend or about 5M shares..
So tranche 2 buyback for 2024 will be cut off short with just 3 weeks left to run and/or carried over.. |
Have the buybacks been completed for 2024? No notifications for purchases from Friday in the rns section? |
As far as I can see this just took a breather before breaking 30 I've traded it up taking divi on routeBut a profit is only a profit when you cash in well done..Hopefully the handle is forming I have a stop loss if it collapses 30% up gla :--) |
Ok, I'm out in case the head and shoulders formation on the chart plays out in full
I love this stock but there are better opportunities out there for the time being, I will buy back if it goes under 2500
GLA |
Yes i'm tempted. |
Tempted to sell my last tranche and wait to buy back lower ... decisions decisions lol |
This is now dependent on Trump winning. |
One thing pound so strong, that's going to eat into FTSE 100 dollar earners profits I would have thought. |
But their main aim is "going for growth" ...... in the unemployment queue (?) |
We might get some indications from RR on the tax raids coming in the budget from the Labour Party conference today at noon, press report some snippets could emerge to calm the hysteria around what is yet to be presented in October.. |
This Labour government is going to crash the economy very fast, expect the worst quite frankly. The best thing to do is to stay calm, spend next to nothing and watch from the sidelines the collapse of socialist policies in real time. Leave the country if you can. |
Perhaps they could raise £millions by levying a tax on political freebies to politicians ... ?
Oh how silly of me that would cost the labour cabinet. |
VAT on them |
I read sin stocks will be hit, fuel, booze, fast food, tobacco and vapes, of course tax on tobacco will go up, is there a tax on vapes at at present I don't know I don't vape. |
#Pete160, my list is getting longer, but with income tax, VAT / NICS left untouched (so far), that is quite a list of targets to hit and we will soon find out end of October.. |
