The stick volume is in decline....it is well established though the exit from Russia was hardly mentioned when yoy comparables weren't good last year. The growth story here is in NGP growth as a smokeless alternative. If the growth margins aren't significantly offsetting the highly profitable stick margins then the share price will be buffeted tomorrow. If stick margin improvement with higher pricing with BATS big brands helps H1 all well and good but the market wants trend growth continuity/improvement in the NGP sector. If they disappoint then the market will take this down.IMB is executing strategy well and I expect BATS to do so as well.GLA all LTHs tomorrow |
If update tomorrow decent then no problem, but market always find something they don't like. |
25 this week me thinks bouncy resistance at that level |
Share of the week Daily Mail yes, Tuesday see what the updates like hopefully not like the last time, disappointing the market. |
share of the week in today's Daily Mail. not sure what that means!! |

It was around this time last year that BATS announced Jack Bowles the last CEO was standing down with immediate effect which certainly didn't help market sentiment or the share price. |
Let's hope not like last year, shares what I can remember around 2600p down to 2400p. |
BATS H1 trading update 4th JUNE.. one for the diary .. |
I will wait as in June you may see price around 2325p |
I do not have ac where I can short any shares. It is good thing to have , I mean flexibility to long or short. |
I go short from time to time on certain shares, but my golden rule, I don't short shares will a high dividend or that are having buybacks. Good luck bears on this one. |
I’m adding before XD over next few weeks as dividends arrive. Below £24 is a good top up opportunity for the near 10% divi. |
xd 27th june |
Thinking of adding another few before the next xd. Not too many more though as am already overweight here. |
amazing how everyone on here sells out at the top |
I sold out at 2490 and have started to buy back in at 2360. Hoping for a drop to 2300 prior to ex-divi date in June that will hopefully see a rise back to 25 or close. |
I'd prefer debt reduction first, special div second. No buy-back increase beyond that stated. |
#Hope1815, thanks for sharing, so following the de-merger (when it happens), according to other sources BATS would divest their holding in ITC hotels as it does not align with their core business, which in turn would fund a good chunk of debt pay down, further buybacks and/or a special..?
All of which is fine by this shareholder.. :o) |
According to a demerger document sent to shareholders, BAT has voted in favor of the demerger. BAT will directly own 15.32% of ITC Hotels (Previously was 17% but BATS sold some of their Holdings hence the new figure) as foreign direct investment, making it the largest public shareholder after ITC's promoter holding of 39.93%.
6 June 2024 ITC Will debate it but it is a foregone conclusion. On the Merchant Bank appointment that will be announced within Q3 2024.
Happy Investing |
Back in the 5 month trading range again |
I want price to recover to 3000p and reduce debt or buy back to achieve that price. |
Wow if true special dividend we hope. |
Hi,
@hope 1815, that sounds potentially good news. Can you provide a link to this info as can't locate anything please?
Many thanks, 🙂 |
