We all want a lower shareprice to compound more over time. But nice to see it go up. |
Thing for me is I want the divi reinvested over the next 4 years automatically for retirement income, also don't want the day to day trading of stocks anymore, so really and I hate to say this, I would prefer a low share price for 4 years, but I can't see that happening, and that would grate on me as well. You just can't have it all can you. I also like the divi on L&G so will do the same there to mix up the investment sectors a bit, don't want that to go up either. |
Thanks Watford. I’m guessing you can only do that on the HL website and not the app?
Useful to know. |
Concerted buying by Merryl Lynch
At least double the volume than that previously carried out by previous incumbent UBS
Does anyone have a figure for how much of the first tranche of the buyback has been spent so far
But looking good while the buyback lasts hope they can keep it up |
T Mo2&; c every p gy |
You can transfer it straight away if wish to.It is only that they reinvest divis once a month rather than as soon as they receive like many.Easy to do it yourself though |
HL take ten days before they transfer your divi income to your capital account. Pretty poor. |
There were a few sell orders at 2400 certainly. It didn't stay there long but encouraging all the same that it's slowly getting bought more than sold at the moment.Nice to see that those invested in the ftse 100 are getting a boost right now.Makes a very pleasant change but will it last? |
On way to new trading range in my view, buybacks, high dividend every 13 week. 2400p resistance level, break this, we would beon our away boys. |
MCunliffe, ii got them for me at £23.70 too lol |
Compounding key to becoming ISA millionaire. |
#Topazfrenzy, that is the name of the game here IMO, use the DRIP or take the dividends and build another position for free.. :o) |
We get our dividend everything 13 weeks, these are great value in my opinion, I reckon we see new trading range 2525-2250p before next ex dividend. You know how Bats can move will a fair wind behind them and buybacks until 2025 helping our cause to get there, good luck boys. |
Mine was also reinvested by ii today - early. At £23.70
Next quarter I may well buy the shares a few days prior to the dividend payout and skip the reinvestment function. Given the evidence of Friday's close price and the buy-in price this morning I would have won out. |
In 5-6 years with divis compounding (and some capital gains which we should also get) then my investment will have doubled. |
ii only reinvested my dividends today! Always seems to take them days to act lol |
Hope not. LOL. want 2500p to sell some. |
You won't see that again. |
2280p has proved to be good price to enter for traders. I done it three times so far at different timing. Shame missed the 2220p yearly low though. |

Disagree. Biden's re-election depends on WW3 and lockdown(and thus easy to fiddle ballot voting) in addition to giving all those illegals the right to vote!!!!!
Banana republic behaviour.
8-10 million illegals since Biden took office.
Treason. |
Just have to be patient.Biden's re-election depends a good deal on interest rates coming down in the US to relieve the cost of living crisis over there. The higher earners are weathering higher costs but the lower earning voters are feeling the pain.Even though the Federal Reserve is independent, political pressure will mount on Powell now to initiate interest rate cuts with only 6 months to election day.As sure as night follows day the BoE will start rates cuts too as they act in tandem with the US not having an individual thought of their own as it would seem. |
It looks to me as if the buybacks are stopping the steady slide in the share price If you look at the 3 year chart it's definitely flattened out over the last 5 months. We just need a bit of good news (on interest rates maybe) to give the trend line an upward jolt. |
Nice to see you around. Trying to off load some if it goes to 2500p. Missing you on GLEN board. |
Let's hope for another blue day here.PM is motoring in the US and IMB appears steady as she goes.Total annual share holder returns look compelling in both BATS and IMB with divis and BBs |
