The Algo switch has been turned to BUY

A wiff of interest rates coming down in the US and our market takes off...extraordinary.I think the fact that US oil producers can now influence the oil market like OPEC+ used to do means oil prices and inflation is under control to a certain extent. However the UK is vulnerable to economic and geopolitical shocks as its always been.I'm not complaining though.Nice to see blue across a lot of shares for a change on the ftse 100! |
Thanks Gecko. Reading business news predictions are that bank rate will be down to 4% by the end of 2024. I might get some viewings on my latest new build. It went on the market in October - zero viewings so far. Huge interest on Rightmove but everyone is sitting on their hands. This news could spark the housing market into life |
Maybe I made the right decision to top up @23. |
The problem with making predictions is you get the naysayers trashing the predictions and you then tend to understate future hoped for levels. monty - you said £23.35 by 21st Dec. It reached £23.79 by 09:37 today.
DiscO - anything to add?
lippy - I agree. In fact, some years back I asked my m.p. to speak with the relevant minister (of the day) to enforce fast food drive-thru's to install licene plate recognition cameras and flat-bed printers such that the packaging handed over to the car diver/passenger carries the reg. printed on the base. The rest, once thrown, is obvious. But, if the take-away is also fined they'll ban that car from future drive thru's. Harsh maybe. |
Powell overnight Car1pet. |
Need to see above 2500p as I recon very soon |
Divi high snd less int on debt. |
shame they dont tax fast food in the same way as the litter from them adorns the country side. |
Still very cheap. |
Government consultation on the Tobacco and Vapes Bill ended on 6 December 2023.
The eagerly awaited outcome could be pivotal in determining future trends. It might see the introduction of a tax of e.g. £3 on all devices to address recycling and litter concerns, and discourage disposables which target youth. There will probably be an additional charge of pennies per milligram of nicotine content on all refills, cartridges and liquids, to discourage levels of nicotine uptake.
It is probable that government will seek to replace declining cigarette revenue with significant clawback from safer substitutes. The tax regime on vaping must nevertheless remain less stringent than on cigarettes in recognition that vaping is by far the safer alternative.
Forthcoming regulation should not risk turning the industry over to criminals through excessive taxation, prescription-only supply restrictions, or creeping prohibition. |
Rates coming down significantly next year so these high yield defensives should come back into fashion .. |
up 2.5% in NY |
Ex div 21st Dec 57.72p, should be around 2335p ex div, if we get the Santa rally. |
Perhaps Imps have a CEO with a closed mouth. |
Imperial up, shows you what buybacks can do for a shareprice. |
Well it's got to break out up or down from the wedge pattern by midday tomorrow.
My logic tells me this is cheap so it can't* be down.
* It also says AAPL and NVDA should be 50% of their current value. :D |
Nice article boys, just out.https://www.fool.com/investing/2023/12/13/3-reasons-to-buy-british-american-tobacco-stock-li/ |
Good day MontyAny more share price predictions?, £26? |
Billionaire increases stake in Bats.Everyone knows this is a cheap stock.https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/1035956/billionaire-kenneth-dart-increases-stake-in-bat-1035956.html |
57p dividend in February will suit me fine, monty. If he fails to deliver on the outlined plans come this time next year...if debt has not come down in line with guidance...I might email him with my own criticisms :) |
I think I will email the CEO and say you written down the largest number in corporate history, no need in my opinion and if you don't increase the dividend in Feb, I want you out, lol do you think he any notice, in the meantime 21st December ex div 57.72p. |
