The Pier looks busy today, no surprise really!

Apparently the weather looks set fair for August and into September...

All jolly good news for the daytripper's and staycationer's!!

From Cenkos...We had already upgraded our FY22E Adj EBITDA forecast twice this year, and in its full year trading update, Brighton Pier Group (BPG) announces that it has further outperformed expectations, with Adj EBITDA of £10.8m ahead of our £10.4m forecast. All divisions performed well, with LFL sales comfortably ahead of pre-Covid levels. Given the sharp deterioration in the UK (and global) economic outlook seen this calendar year, with inflation continuing to rise and consumers facing a 'cost of living crisis', we consider this to be an excellent performance, which is testament to both the quality of BPG's assets, and to management's ability to successfully navigate industry challenges.Trading on a FY23E Adj P/E of 9.1x, we believe BPG remains attractively valued, and reaffirm our Buy rating.

hiya - great results. i am a holder and a fan. think this is reasonably valued but with such great CASH flows has potential for long term acquisition growth.

does anyone know - is there any shareholder discount in place?

many thanks

Superb performance and financials yet again. If the market wants to let it stay as the cheapest growth stock in the UK because of some potential economic headwinds down the road (which have as yet failed to materialise) then that's fine by me. I will happy to keep putting everything I've got spare into it at this price.

Nice statement, clearly the current year will be tougher, nonetheless the cash generative nature of the business stands it in good stead.

Yes, and with reports that few people are planning to work tomorrow or Tuesday, it's effectively going to be another four day weekend as far as seaside trade is concerned. The positive thing for me about the robust demand that Anne Ackord mentioned is it gives them a window to keep their prices up in line with inflation and maintain healthy margins, at a time when input and labour costs are creeping up. Happy days

Anne Ackord, chief operating officer for the Brighton Pier Group, said: “The forecast looks great for the weekend and going into next week.

“It’s been a long time since we experienced such a continuous hot spell and those of us who remember that very hot summer of 1976 will know that a trip to the seaside is the ideal way to enjoy this amazing start to the summer season.

“This could be the busiest weekend we have seen in a long time and we look forward to welcoming our residents and visitors to soak up the sun and enjoy the best of our city.”

It's not on the pier, I am using the Queens Hotel webcam pointing at the pier. If you enlarge on a big screen you can see well the number of people moving along it. Also, I had friends who were there all day yesterday, standing room only on the 9am train from London and 'absolutely rammed' at and around the pier. The resilience of spending power thus far is quite something.

I've been searching for a live webcam on the pier, have you a link please?

Visitors swarming over the pier like ants from what I see on the webcam. Train strike is so far confined to a Wednesday which should soften the blow.

Yes, and I'm hoping we'll get given a taster of how July is evolving in the imminent update. Agree that these rail strikes will be a negative.

Fingers crossed, indeed!

The chaos at the airports won't be doing us any harm either.

I've put off going abroad this year because I can't be doing with the possibility of long delays/cancelled flights/missing luggage etc... next year it is!

I'm not a lover of airports, even when they are operating efficiently, lol!!

If recent footfall is any indication of what we can expect for the rest of this hot weather, it's going to be a windfall week or two at the pier. Just in time for the July update.

I did contact them at the end of last week to ask if there would be a trading update in the near future. The swift RNS today certainly answered my question, bravo!

In this climate, I'm happy we are trading inline, but more hopeful in the meantime, we are continuing to pay down the debt too! I do wonder where the share price would be, if and when the debt is repaid in full! Hopefully within 18 months, when I would be disappointed if the share price isn't above 120p...

I actually like the fact this is so illiquid to trade.... if you like the company and prospects, buy and hold, if not, don't bother!

I'm certainly very impressed with the management, and am quite excited with what lies ahead, regardless of the doom and gloom merchants around now....

The diversity of their assets is recession proof in my opinion, and hence this is the only company I've increased my holding in, whilst exiting others....

Anyway, apologies for my ramble....
