21/7/2009 11:18 | OMG.....were you bullied at school JJ????? | monkey puzzle
21/7/2009 11:17 | Ass, So where is the bullying in the above?? | judijudi
21/7/2009 11:05 | It was Assegai who raised the 'thug' and 'bullying' issue ! FWIW, aside from anything else, I don't consider that anyone has been 'bullied' by anybody on this thread nor has anyone behaved like a thug either ! | masurenguy
21/7/2009 10:58 | Mas - The only reason I mentioned dealing with caring minutiae is that whilst doing mundane tasks, rather than the day job, one's mind is free to wander and ponder. The last thing I want is "sympathy" or to "deflect criticism", as I stand by the truth - or genuinely held opinion - of whatever I post or have posted in the past. I have always been positive and enthusiastic about the technology, and remain so, no matter who owns it. It's true that I didn't see the logic of a Jubilee bid for Braemore, as I had not fully taken on board, at that point, the very significant difference in revenue that would result from Jubilee owning their own in-house, lower-cost smelting/refining facilities, even for smelting only Merensky concentrate. So, just as I said I could be, I was wrong about that - the addition of Conroast to Tjate could make it viable without having to wait until PGM prices return to far higher levels. As for the bullying debate, as you have pointed out, I am capable of giving as good as I get (when I can be bothered), so let's leave that one alone, please. | wdurham
21/7/2009 10:55 | Assegai - 21 Jul'09 - 10:28 - 19414 of 19418: Just one example: "Judijudi - 3 Jul'09 - 18:52 - 18802 of 19411: WD, You treat other holders and their views as though they are children. [...] You're a humourless, pompous, know-all: shove that where the sun don't shine!!!!! Surely you understand that??" Aggressive yes but certainly not bullying. The latter consists of both a consistent and incessant virulent condemnation of someone after every post that they make. One swallow does not make a summer and one post does not constitute bullying either. What about this from WD wdurham - 1 Jul'09 - 18:11 - 18488 of 19418: TOPINFO - Clearly you know as much about Meldex as you do about Braemore. I would keep your learned comments to yourself if I were you - they simply make you look foolish. Less strident perhaps and more subtle but just as damning of the posters credentials! I will not be sidetracked a moment longer with this useless discussion. You are all adults and should know what you are doing. End. I'm also slightly bothered about your closing coment which roughly translates as 'I've substantiated my case and therefore I don't want to hear any further debate or dissent on the issue'. You actually raised this issue in the first place but have not justified the bullying claim when challenged and consequently you can't just dismiss any further response to your case ! | masurenguy
21/7/2009 10:38 | Going postal Meaning Fly into a violent rage, especially when provoked by workplace stress. Origin This originated in the USA in 1990s following a several incidents from 1986 onward, in which individuals working for the United States Postal Service workers shot and killed fellow workers and members of the public. The first event of this kind was in August 1986, when fourteen postal workers were killed and six wounded by gunshot in an Oklahoma post office, by Patrick Sherrill, himself a postal worker, who later shot himself. Between that date and 1997 there were more than 40 deaths in 20 such incidents. The term was first recorded in the Florida newspaper The St. Petersburg Times, December 1993: "The symposium was sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service, which has seen so many outbursts that in some circles excessive stress is known as 'going postal'." | monkey puzzle
21/7/2009 10:36 | Talk about bullies | judijudi
21/7/2009 10:34 | Judi, What a whinging cow you really are...first it's endless moans abut the mangement, then it was moan after moan about how JLP shareholkders are screwing you and now it's other posters....if things really are that bad for you here you really ought to have a serious rethink about why you post on advfn at all...it just seems to really, really upset you and that isn't healthy for you. You sound like you could go postal any minute. | monkey puzzle
21/7/2009 10:29 | Judijudi, our posts crossed, what a pity! I am shaking in my boots. Might I suggest hell as a good destination for you? | assegai
21/7/2009 10:28 | Just one example: "Judijudi - 3 Jul'09 - 18:52 - 18802 of 19411 WD, You treat other holders and their views as though they are children. [...] You're a humourless, pompous, know-all: shove that where the sun don't shine!!!!! Surely you understand that??" (Please note that I have corrected spelling and grammar to make it comprehensible as the poster appears challenged in this respect.) I will not be sidetracked a moment longer with this useless discussion. You are all adults and should know what you are doing. End. | assegai
21/7/2009 10:25 | Assegai - 21 Jul'09 - 10:02 - 19410 of 19411: Masurenguy, I am afraid you are very wrong there. Much of what has been said to and about wdurham has been extremely offensive indeed and has at times been bullying I'm sorry Assegai but it is very easy to express an entirely subjective opinion without providing any evidence whatsoever to substantiate it ! People should be accountable for what they say and do if they expect to be considered credible. Please provide evidence of WD being a victim of 'bullying' posts that you claim have been posted on this thread. It is easy to 'assure me' that the evidence is there without actually producing any. If you are going to make such a claim then it is necessary to substantiate it by produce the evidence because to date I have not seen anything that would justify the claim of 'bullying' ! | masurenguy
21/7/2009 10:07 | Are you for real?? Cannot believe what i'm reading Show me one bullying post please The biggest bully on here is actually WD herself with her pompous & condescending posts Waiting | judijudi
21/7/2009 10:02 | Masurenguy, I am afraid you are very wrong there. Much of what has been said to and about wdurham has been extremely offensive indeed and has at times been bullying (whether she is right or wrong in her opinions is irrelevant). I am not going to spend my day trawling through past posts looking for evidence but I assure you the evidence is there. Judijudi is not the only offender, and he is not even the worst. He is, however, the worst of those who remain unfiltered. Try not to forget that first and foremost we are all human beings with feelings and weaknesses and that we are meant to be playing at some game called civilisation. | assegai
21/7/2009 09:53 | mas, Thank you | judijudi
21/7/2009 09:53 | Free, Hi Mate how goes it? You did the right thing and took a hit when you got out. A brave decision at the time and in hindsight the correct one! | judijudi
21/7/2009 09:50 | WD, Now your getting boring! | judijudi
21/7/2009 09:48 | As the question of management has yet again arisen, let's have a look at why Braemore is where it is today: 1. Collapse of nickel price following rampant speculative activity in early 2007, coupled with worldwide recession - particularly in construction - which trashed it completely 2. Collapse of platinum price following rampant speculative activity in early 2008, coupled with worldwide recession - particularly in the auto industry - which trashed it completely. 3. Collapse of the credit market - lack of project finance for Braemore's potential customers as well as for Braemore themselves 4. Collapse of investor sentiment - lack of equity funding other than at punitive discounts for Braemore's potential customers as well as for Braemore themselves 5. Sharp retrenchment by hedge funds and other institutions leading to big sell-offs throughout the sector 6. Turmoil and uncertainty in the PGM industry which has delayed expected partnerships and the funding that would have accompanied them. (Not to mention also scuppering two high profile takeover bids among the majors.) 7. Severe recession in the nickel industry which has created massive internal and external problems for BHP and delayed their assessment of and decision on the Nickel West tailings ops 8. Strengthening of the rand against the dollar which finally negated toll smelting profits at Randburg. All of this, it seems, is the fault of the management team at Braemore. I suggest some folk should look at the real world and what has actually been going on in the two industries where Braemore plans to operate. A look at the AmPlats profit warning issued last week would be instructive, for a start. | wdurham
