Windy!

Is that "basket price", or basket case ?

matrixtrader -

"i arranged meetings with influential brokers and houses such as Merrill Lynch recently and they could not even provide cost breakdowns of how much a smelter would cost to operate and cash flow/profit forecasts....bunch of monkeys!!"

I can imagine the questions and the answers:

How much does it cost to run a smelter? Depends on the feedstock
How much profit will it make? Depends on the feedstock
How many ounces will it produce? Depends on the feedstock

The only constant is 2,000 tonnes - or whatever other tonnage depending on capacity - per month. Every orebody is different, every prill split is different, every batch of feedstock has a different grade, and to cap it all the basket prices move around all over the place on practically a daily basis.

What a smelter might cost to run at a given mine site, with a given prill split and a given grade would be different - that COULD be estimated, subject of course to vagaries of the basket price. But any smelter on any site smelting any feedstock from any mine is impossible to provide meaningful figures for.

Its a done deal already I am certain..............in the end it will be seen as the best deal ever done for BRR...........not many see that yet but all will agree in the fullness of time.

I'm fairly confident that they will obtain the requisite majority unless a better offer comes along in the meantime.

They already have 50% and if JLP keep going up it will be easier to vote "yes"

Yes that's the point joeblogg. Assuming this TO goes ahead banging on about BRR management is ancient history. It's what happens to JLP's share price and Bird's ability to raise finance. Will their share price reflect their current assets and all of BRR's tech. There is a good argument that the synergy can produce early cash flow and release the value in both companies.

Surely, the combined operation will not have trouble rasing finance considering the potential millions here??? Colin Bird seems to know what he is talking about and I think as people realise he is at the helm, then we could see the price recover very quickly!!!

Wel written article i thought and the bits about BRR cracked me up lol!
An ps i do agree management have a lot to answer for...i arranged meetings with influential brokers and houses such as Merrill Lynch recently and they could not even provide cost breakdowns of how much a smelter would cost to operate and cash flow/profit forecasts....bunch of monkeys!!
