"If that crazy plan to allow HK residents to migrate to Britain ever occurs I can see HSBC dropping its London listing altogether"

Why is it crazy?
HK Chinese hard working, entrepreneurial..
Better we take them than economic migrants with few skills from Africa/Middle East surely?

Agree.
That ball of fire in the sky is a bigger influencer on climate change than mankind is.

And if man made climate change is so bad, why are the same people who push that narrative flying around in pollutive private jets whilst doing nothing to stop all the trees that get cut down every day!!!!

Haven't you heard, BP is a green sustainable company run by Looney selling anything oil related, RDS is still an oil company not run by Looney.

Shell just took off. Looks like BP joining in. Something just changed a tad. Be good if the shorts started to close

HSBC more likely to get clobbered by China irrespective. If that crazy plan to allow HK residents to migrate to Britain ever occurs I can see HSBC dropping its London listing altogether. The bulk of its business is over there, and it will not help it by remaining associated with the UK.

Carbon tax plan gets binned by Boris Johnson

"More like the fear that it would spark riots due to the loss of jobs etc, would bring widespread misery, many are struggling already... Now let's drop the insane carbon zero race. Co2 is essential for plants. Without the oxygen they give off, all animals on the planet will die. Co2 levels in the atmosphere are not dangerously high, they're dangerously low."See link video below "A Dearth of Carbon Dr. Patrick Moore"

Boris Johnson last night killed off the idea of a carbon tax that could have seen huge price rises for meat, cheese and gas.

And on the other hand the cuts to production are the highest and longest ever seen in our lifetimes -- so much so, that even though the world is operating on 30% production capacity to normal, the oil price is actually not far returned to profitable price. Yes there may be treading water for a month or two but when they lift the iron curtain spring or summer, I am betting that there won't be the workforce or infrastructure to supply the demand. Massively inflated fuel prices? Big profits for oil companies. It'll be like the housing division after the financial crisis - massive shortfall on housing for the medium term due to the layoff. Not so quick and easy to put back online! We will see
