Scruff - you say "Only amateurs disagree"... I found that offensive as it's lies.

As I have mentioned every analyst report on oil say there will be shortage of oil over the next 10 years.

Show us the reports that say otherwise then?

And as far as Green goes - BP was the first to move in that direction and have a good growing portfolio of green to hedge their share price in the future...

Re-read post 5913 - that info comes from many analysts reports...

Lots to read and try and guess what the future holds... Seems that the 4th qtr was not as per analysts forecasts though it seems JP Morgan @ 415 , Goldman @ 430 and UBS @ 350 remain positive. Oil up over 2% today, the way I see it is that BP is not going to mis-step in its transition and legacy products may have some time to run.

Biden will also stop new oil drilling in the USA. While many will throw up smoke and mirrors and speak badly of oil companies just see beyond it. EVERY forward projection shows that by 2025 the world will be needing MORE oil not less and as all the current 1st world investment is going to electric cars there is a massive under investment in new oil wells!

Electric cars means little and they will only be by 2030 or 2035. What many don't see is that 90% of countries just don't have the money to invest in totally new infrastructure to replace oil. So far from becoming less reliant on oil the world will become still more reliant for at least another 30 years! Just for example - Germany still use 25% "COAL" to meet their needs!! and that's Germany! Then look at Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, China and even Russia... China's oil requirements are likely to DOUBLE over the next 2 years alone!

Do people really believe all those countries will all of a sudden find 100's of Trillions $ spare cash to replace their entire infrastructures to go clean energy in the next 5 to 10 years!? Over the past 100 years most of them still haven't got off coal! lol

So with massive underinvestment in oil and Biden stopping new wells in the USA... what happens while everyone chants green green green.... the oil price RISES..UP...UP...UP

Just let the Covid get past Q1. Summer onwards...

It's good to go green... Save the planet... Just don't believe all the anti hype about needing less oil in the mean time! :-)

Agree. Crazi but it was only COVID-19 last year whereas now we have 5. Do not forget German, UK & Chinese which started all. Why people cannot see this manipulation. Sunday Times stated over the weekend that cases of flu fallen 98%, drop not seen for 130 years. There is no flu it is covid, but still same virus. Patents for flu vaccination runs out hence new pandemic. Times also reported that every year 1 billion people get flu globally. Plus if you read between the lines they call as unable to perform basic hygiene. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/hygiene-and-immunity-leave-flu-germs-with-nowhere-to-go-xxdb65klt

There will ALWAYS be new strains. That's how viruses work. But it's a great fear spreader... New Strain - now Panic...

Covid is here to stay. Like the common cold or Flu. The difference is the current Vaccines stop it being fatal and also new immune system boosters getting released shortly does the same thing.

Lol Sbb1x. GKP??? Really? 🤣 Surprised they’re even still around. Compete basket case. Cost a lot of people a lot of money. I know someone who lost over £2m in them and another acquaintance who lost £450k. He also nearly lost his marriage and had to agree to never trade again 🤣
Stick to BP or RDSB.

Looney should be looking to produce profits for BP and its shareholders and save placating the the likes of Greta until better times!
Cutting back production capacity and selling it to others does nothing 'to save the world' just gives others the profit and takes it off BP.
