As a contractor, bp won't own or operate them |
In a ceremony on Tuesday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between British Petroleum (BP) company and Iraq to rehabilitate and develop four fields in Kirkuk in order to increase production rates of oil and gas https://x.com/thenewregion/status/1879436746859196779 |
Stg to drop to 110 to 115 against usd in month according to pandit on bloomberg now |
says it all when a tiny U.S shaler with 3000 employees is worth the same as BP (an supermajor).
the board need to go. |
@geckotheglorious. Don't want you to fall out of your tree in the Florida frost but trust me: Those investment banks (you trust) made money out of this inside information. BP board and us (share-holder punters) were suckered! |
If as expected they reduce the annual buyback in Feb, bringing forward the dividend increase from August to Feb might assuage the market. In the last 6 months they will have bought back circa 5% of the company shares by Feb's results , so why not increase the dividend by 5%, and add the other 5% on the usual August timeframe. |
adg, nope it's the 2ndQ dividend hikes are announced. |
penandnen Post 100439 "Why on earth did they buy back 5m shares yesterday in full knowledge of RNS announcement next day would drop share price by 3%?"
Presumably because the buyback programme is already in operation, done by a third party investment bank, who would not have been privy to the contents of this mornings RNS. |
Also, just a hunch they bring the share buybacks to a close. |
FWIW :- JPMorgan raises BP price target to 440 (425) pence - 'underweight' |
1st quarter dividend hike announced. 90% sure. |
Question: is it this Q final results when historically any dividend hike is announced? |
Get ready for kier starmer to slip the sausage into investors |
@Alphom. Incisive article. If only we could muster enough votes to call a EGM on this proposal. Too much groupthink running BP, methinks. |
I had missed this article: |
Beginning to think BP is a basket case needing more medical attention than CEO. Why on earth did they buy back 5m shares yesterday in full knowledge of RNS announcement next day would drop share price by 3%? Thank G most of my energy shares are not BP! |
In the meantime keep collecting qtrly juicy divi with bid speculation thrown in for free |
If pou d drop by 8% as predicted by pundits this will be 450p +++ |
Opening lower methinks. Well, it was a good run while it lasted! |
RNS a tad underwhelming? |
Was beginning to think I was overweight (12% of portfolio)in energy shares last Summer but had a feeling Russia and Iran would find it increasingly difficult to smuggle oil/gas into world supplies. Cold NH winter also now eating into inventories. Onwards and upwards for energy shares right now. Usual problems for me: Predicting the peak and pocketing max gains. Where does cash go next? Investing in UK plc looking like a bad idea! US tech stocks are a bubble waiting to burst? Maybe just spend some before next tax raid? |
Pound may tumble another 8% report on bloomberg now |
Dollar on its way down which is a good sign |
