Woops !

Missed one

"GND is a private company owned by the Teeling family, Jim Finn and David Hynes

who between them established Cooley Distillery and rebuilt Kilbeggan Distillery before selling them"

So there is still

Great Northern Distillery

Two distilleries – Pot still and Column still, built on the site of the former Harp Brewery, which was established in 1895.

And I thought they were out of the whiskey business so that they had time to concentrate on everything else....

162 Group

"Currently four listed companies are managed from 162, these include Botswana Diamonds, Clontarf Energy, Connemara Mining and Petrel Resources. Swala Resources, soon to be named Concordia and listed in Toronto, was controlled out of 162 but is now managed from Brussels."

Then there is Greenore Gold PLC that shares 2 of BOD's directors

Just how do these people find the time to concentrate on making these businesses a success?

Oh sorry of course they don't though do they , maybe they are spread just too thin ?
Then there was the whisky business as well - but that was a success - oh and a private company.

Market seems to have taken a rather innocuous AGM statement pretty badly - down 20%, why is that?

All this investing mularky its not really rocket science is it ?

Then there's the story - fabulous new opportunity, one might say why? Just in case Botswana is a dud? After all they have added yet another country to the list of possible travel expenses here surely spreading themselves too thin ?

Just in case Botswana is a dud?

I only looked back at the accounts 2012 and was not really surprised to find that they had discovered diamonds in Zimbabwe and Cameroon, (drum roll please) only to write off all of the investments (!, yeah right) just a couple of years later to concentrate ALL their efforts on Botswana.
Botswana has still not come to fruition so why start another "second front" ?

Why start a second front in SA, indeed ?

Everyone harping on about Alrosa....
Could it be one of us correctly read the accounts?

fenners66 - 27 Mar 2017 - 08:07:09 - 2622 of 3496 Botswana Diamonds - BOD
From the interims
" A proposal exists to drill the remaining known kimberlite on the block" - a proposal exists that can mean just about anything or nothing. Think, they chose these words carefully it does not say its going to happen , it does not say that Alrosa said no but :

"ongoing discussions between Alrosa and the Company's specialists regarding the optimal way to proceed" which could also mean its a waste of time.

After all I could propose that Mick becomes king of the world - there a proposal exists - see what I did there.

Smoke and mirrors has been the modus operandi for so long you have to read the words and see what they say , not what you want them to say.

I still question the need for a farm in deal in SA if the Botswana prospect was going to keep them busy.

Apologists - just ignore the above quotes from the accounts.

So far, so much like all the other previous prospects. until then this just follows the same script - jam tomorrow story and more fund raising - mission accomplished - if its a duster never mind we'll find another prospect.

Who would have thought it ?

"The Sunland joint venture with Alrosa is now completing a fourth year. Despite significant effort nothing has been found." "offer to the liquidator which will not be considered until the liquidation is completed in early 2018."
"As operations in Botswana have proceeded slowly focus has turned to a number of late stage projects in South Africa"

So they signalled this some time back then ?

Change of name coming then?
Funny how if this was the "number one destination for diamond exploration in the world" they decided to go elsewhere, is he saying the decision to go to and name after, Botswana was flawed?

Or await for this to happen , from agm today.Field work on a targeted Inferred Resource at Thorny River has been completed with formal reporting planned for early in the New Year. This field work has consisted of extensive drilling (both core and percussion), detailed ground geophysics, microdiamond assessment and a large surface sample which has been taken and is currently being processed. Previously reported historical figures show a grade of 64 carats per hundred tonnes and a value per carat of $200. The next stage in 2018 is to either to trial mine or bulk sample to upgrade the resource to Indicated.
