20/11/2018 14:15 | Is share price drop related to environmental audit? Boohoo had a deadline to provide response before 15 November. And I cant see have they provided or not. Anyone knows, did they reply? | riostroy
20/11/2018 13:35 | Hi yopf, I've topsliced 35% in 4 tranches, at an average of 205p. As you can work out, I've already got my capital (and more) back....and am basically running these for free. HTH and ATB | extrader
20/11/2018 13:32 | Nobody can trust your judgement Extrader if you've held a substantial holding from 23p and have not taken profits yet seem negative about BOO? | yopf
20/11/2018 13:30 | Hi again christh, …"Remember Newtons' law "whatever goes up must come down and whatever goes down will go up" ? No. There is no such law. You may be thinking of the investment concept of things reverting to the mean, which is not the same thing. ATB | extrader
20/11/2018 13:22 | Hi christh, ...Boohoo, if I am not wrong, they are manufacturing their clothes abroad. Are you for real ? BooHoo's business model, along with others, is based on local (ie UK) production, to meet the 'I want it now' mindset /instant gratification culture of its target market. I'm surprised that you don't appear to be aware of this basic fact - or of the pending Parliamentary inquiry into its (sub-contractors, it will say) business practices. See www.parliament.uk/do I'm a (for me substantial) holder - from 23p - and think this could easily go either way. ATB | extrader
20/11/2018 13:15 | There's an awful lot of effort to talk BOO down....why? Same person, different nicknames....concert party? Stake building or bid coming? | yopf
20/11/2018 13:12 | dsct I refer you last year's trading statement showing that their trading was exceptionally good and the shareprice was very strong that day. Remember Newtons'law "whatever goes up must come down and whatever goes down will go up" I do not remember how many newtons will be needed to change direction but it is either Up or Down and I have already staked the rise to 220p not newtons! | christh
20/11/2018 13:07 | Well it closed the gap but has not bounced(yet) - no support until 170? | toffeeman
20/11/2018 13:01 | @christh Do you even read the other posts before you reply ? @Mr_Spock has already confirmed there are 0% disclosed short positions, so why keep mentioning it. (as an aside, Mr Spock never said "Live SHORT and prosper" lol) You stated: "How can you assume that! Boohoo last year had a record sales on Black friday and anticipates to do exceptionally well this year." What have I assumed ? I can GUARANTEE that if BOO sell an item now for £20, but they sell at a reduced price of £15 for Black Friday their margin WILL BE LOWER !!! I didn't say anything about their sales being low, or lower, did I ? Do you think BOO will keep and store all their summer stock until next year, or wouldn't it be better to try and offload this during Black Friday ? Why (and how) will Black Friday affect the shareprice ? Do all those invested in BOO, or thinking of investing, not already know that Black Friday is coming, or will it be a TOTAL surprise to everyone if BOO announce they've sold goods in the Black Friday sale. Personally, I think that if we get a trading update (possibly including Black Friday turnover), then the share price will go up, or go down, or possibly stay the same - I can GUARANTEE one of these three scenarios will happen :o) If the share price drops to 150p, then those I've recently sold at 200p will be like a 25%-off Black Friday sale for me when/if I buy back ! lol | dsct
20/11/2018 12:46 | Extrader The softer BOO price is likely linked to uncertainty re possible consequences of the forthcoming Parliamentary inquiry into working conditions in the UK-based rag trade. not credible. There are Unions covering all these. There is nothing new, the companies tha manufacture in the UK or import their merchandise from the far East know the conditions in the factories, employment etc. Not new! Has anybody been bothered? Do any of the companies have and adopt an ethics code? No! Big companies like M&S,Top shop etc. know the living conditions of the employees but can not intervene in a foreign country to impose rules and changes. Boohoo, if I am not wrong, they are manufacturing their clothes abroad. | christh
20/11/2018 12:13 | Wow got my 185+ fill... will buy more in the 170s if it happens otherwise happy to hold into 2019 | losses
20/11/2018 11:37 | Hi christh, .."Boohoo is trading globally, not just Europe! Mostly the revenue is derived from the UK Do you actually read what you post, before hitting the 'send' button ? The softer BOO price is likely linked to uncertainty re possible consequences of the forthcoming Parliamentary inquiry into working conditions in the UK-based rag trade. ATB | extrader
20/11/2018 10:55 | Any silly excuse for market makers, speculators, shorters to drop the price. Brexit will not affect Boohoo. Boohoo is trading globally, not just Europe! Mostly the revenue is derived from the UK. | christh
20/11/2018 10:49 | I find it totally staggering that with all the positive news and performance consistently churned out by Boo that it was being shorted by various parties ... and now with all this Brexit turmoil going on there are no reported shorts currently ... what does that tell you about the so called experts. This share will recover but not til Brexit is resolved which is what I alluded to last month. All my own opinion of course. | superhoop2
20/11/2018 10:43 | yopf who's responsible for Boo's share price fall? can we eliminate the culprit? Surely black friday will affect the shareprice change | christh
20/11/2018 10:36 | I disagree that Brexit is responsible for Boo's share price fall. | yopf
20/11/2018 10:33 | I don't think Brexit influences the buying trends of 18-30 year olds in any serious way. I think the uncertainty over Brexit has influenced share prices. Without Brexit we'd probably be sitting comfortably at 240p+. I think a no-deal Brexit would send share prices even lower (at least in the short-term). | mr_spock
20/11/2018 10:18 | How is Brexit going to influence the buying trends of fashion conscious 18-30 year olds? | yopf
20/11/2018 10:03 | Christh, please chill. Understand that you are underwater here, but if you check shorttracker it shows 0% short positions. I accept that there may be private investors with shorts but will that small volume be enough to move the market? I don't think so. Check BOO shorts here: Investors now have little reason to buy until Brexit is sorted one way or the other. Prospect of a no-deal frightens everyone. I am holding fire until Brexit deal gets through Parliament (assuming it does). Will pile back in then. | mr_spock
20/11/2018 09:46 | dsct 19 Nov '18 - 21:28 - 13818 of 13823 Some notes I've made from recent postings here: Black Friday - Not as good as it's cranked up to be for retailers. Lower profit margin. More work (overtime pay). OK for clearing unwanted stock. Headline sales figures look good on news, but negative analysts will pick on the margin downsides etc. How can you assume that! Boohoo last year had a record sales on Black friday and anticipates to do exceptionally well this year. Looking at their website, they are well prepared to meet orders well ahead of the date. I expect them to do very well and shut up the critics. | christh
20/11/2018 09:19 | Shorters have destroyed value to the company. I wonder if it recovers from this price. As long as there are shorters who sell shares they donot own and the market capitalization falls, the reputation of the company goes too. Incredible! A company thriving, growing, very profitable reduced to shreds by shorters who do not care or value anything. From 250p to drop to 187p in the space of 3 months,to lose 33%. That's a bit chunk to come out of the share price. Although the company is growing, profitable ,it has been now become very undervalued. | christh
20/11/2018 08:31 | The short train has uncoupled and the long train has now departed for platform 300p :) | yopf
20/11/2018 08:17 | Really oversold on daily chart now....could bounce big time | yopf |
