Yep.. take a look at ASOS share price post-update. Their update was on the 25th Jan, and they posted a forecast-beating result. When that happens, rather than selling straight away, institutions will hold for a week or so afterwards, and THEN sell, so that they can ride the wave. The share price went up from £68.75 before results, to £74.70, held for another few days, and then dropped back to £68.60 yesterday - virtually the same as before the results despite beating forecast. Of course, over time, it does stick, and a good-performing company will grow over the course of the year with updated financials etc. That's why, sometimes on results day the share price drops back despite good results being issued, and people say "why has the share price fallen"? Take Boohoo's recent results - they were fantastic, but they were also in-line with what people expected to see, hence they dropped back. But in the weeks before the update look what happened.... 7th Dec the share price dropped like a stone- it lost 11p in a day down to £1.67... some private investors were panicking and selling, stop-losses were being triggered, but for what reason? Was the business broken? Was there a problem? Was the some terrible news? No, not at all! Institutions must have been rubbing their hands that they could buy into Boohoo so cheaply! What subsequently happened? Over the next 4 weeks before the Jan update, the share price went up 50p per share to £2.17 at it's peak... it'll do the same soon, but on a much bigger scale. On the 12th June this year, before the Q1 trading update for the new year, the share price will be in a different place altogether.

Interesting post thorpy. Do or did you see similar patterns at say ASOS.? Obviously holders hope that BOO can perform like ASOS over time.

Yep i belive we will test 160.......as much as it pains me, and foe the life of me I cannot understand why, so there must be people in know with either very deep pockets and large as yet unreported short positions or maybe multiple sub 0.5% positions. Te company goes from strength to strength with massive out perform results and the share price crashes.....you could not make it up!

I switched from boo in SOS as it has better risk reward from now...it targets the more mature lady from 30 upwards, an area nor covered by BOO or ASOS...good management team. Two positive trading statements since Nov listing. Share still below radar

The chart looks horrible... but value looks good at forward PEG of about 0.45.
I'm thinking it's time to accumulate again.

Another great trading update from SOS, a new women's online fashion retailer, filling a gap in the market not covered by BOO or ASOS

Well I see we follow the dow down as usual but these days never follow it up. An 800 point turn around sinc 6 p.m. so let us see what we do withat on M onday after a 20% rise in Jan , have lost it all and then some so need some bounce from here. All the markets gross over reaction to the threat of a rate rise. Interest rates are far to low in the first place. A base rate of 2% would be very acceptable and I expect to see that by year end then if the respective goverment have a brain at all they will keep it there for a very long period, that would stabalise a lot of economie.
