cash - Your role as a bear is to scare people to sell in order to make more money on the way down and this is normal and that's fine by me because I am a long term holder. I only understood one thing: BOO's true value hasn't even started yet ... and as they say, never follow the herd mentality. All those who sold in panic will regret it because within a few weeks things will be as normal as before and all this gloom and doom will be "forgotten". There will more different news and different interpretations etc. So if you don't sell you lose nothing unless one is a day trader or has to close his positions.

fuji99,

When there's an emergency in a huge hall full of people, the exits tend to be very narrow. What's been happening recently? The major institutions have been slowly unloading the riskier stuff to smaller players. Big players like Warren Buffet are stockpiling hoards of cash ($100bln at last count). There will be a downturn, a pretty horrific one - the question is identifying the black-swan that triggers the collapse.

People often confuse a treeshake with minor fluctuations. This is a proper treeshake, 20-30%. I sold a 50% of my holding the day before results only because my holding had got out of line and was too large in comparison to my other holdings. I am now buying that back, i find good value here again, it may dip lower than this but will soon bounce post 200.

glenkaz,

You're unusually taciturn this beautiful morning. (Look it up).

....Finding a bottom is a risky skill which I have learnt!

Is it fair to say BOO has found YOUR bottom & is sticking your ramping knife catching up it?

Got in originally at 174p thinking I was probably a bit late to the party, but then being pleasantly surprised I wasn't. But after a bit of a gamble on sentiment in the last two days I am now down £500 over my total holding. Little bit in two minds now. But probably need to sit down and write up a list of good reasons to leave and good reasons to stay and see which list is stronger.

price targets already being raised to 330!....that's how good the earnings where (actually slightly ahead of expectations) - not going to bother with a little IT/ marketing spend which is expected for growing company...:)))

Markets are more controlled than before as they have triggers.
Then why markets would crash if the world economies are doing well ?
There is no property or internet bubble and banks are more regulated and are healthier.
So crashes are things of the past and it will therefore be a market going up but in a "yoyo way". The small corrections and rises on the way up will be due to news of the day.

Fair play salty, things don't feel quite as they should but it's been like it for some time now. We should see some kind of pull back but when? Who knows.

Boo, great company, high valuation and the pattern is getting interesting.

saltaire,
the market for high growth/blue sky is in bubble territory imho.

That's not to say all stocks are overvalued, there are pockets of value elsewhere.

Perhaps banks are due a rerating with imminent interest rate rises and high growth rates e.g. ALD/OSB/LLOY as examples.

A few weeks ago I wrote on here to say I'd sold my entire BOO holding and, in fact, liquidated my entire portfolio. I don't regret doing so and while markets have not yet fallen significantly, I really do think we've now seen the top of the 10 year bull market. While the next crash might not be as spectacular as the crisis crisis, I really do see markets declining over the near term.

Salty.

Following NEXT improvement in sales - thanks to online - , I am sure BOO will upgrade its sales at least another time as we approach Xmas period. So, stay calm and keep cool. BOO is a medium to long term strong hold.
