Think it was in oversold territory Toffee. It had nosed above 800p before it fell to 687p so I think some bottom feeders have moved in. It will be interesting to see if the rise is sustained tomorrow or will people bank profits.

£10+ looks not unreasonable given growth and prospects

This looks a cracking set of results to me. 9.5p divi plus 10p special divi to boot. A swing from net debt to 15 million in cash. I like the fact that a return of money to shareholders is ranked higher in priority than acquisitions. I was looking to cash out on 700p but now think I will be buying on weakness. Taking a longer term horizon these will be £10 and the cash generative nature will be useful in times where it is hard to get a return. I expect this will smash through £7 today/

On the way up again - this leg up should be good imo.

When this has momentum it's a cracker imo.

Just keeping above 700p CR. I had another look at the last results
and I really liked how much they they reduced the debt. It pays a nice divi and even at this level I really feel they are worth holding despite the recent run up. A really solid share!

700p target price smashed. Well has this got more to come or fully valued now? I am in at 500p so maybe time to take profits. Any holders with views?

Co recent trading update

"Outlook
Although economic growth in both Europe and North America continues to be muted, the Group's organic performance is showing some improvement, as anticipated, and the Board's expectations for the year to 31 December 2013 are unchanged."

Bowl on the chart - heading higher imo:

Export orders push UK manufacturing to 18-year high

Broad-based increase helps total orders grow to their highest level since February 1995, Confederation of British Industry says

All imo/dyor etc

Decent update - profit increase despite weakness in some areas - astute reduction in operational gearing in trucks. Rev/profit growth in tough operating environment bodes well for maximising profit through rest of recovery cycle. BOY is a very cyclical share so if the recovery gets going it should capitalise this recovery well. Also a good yielder. I reckon these numbers are slightly ahead of the curve.

Took some quick profits at 536.
I am getting worried the whole market is inflated and suspect some of the lower yielding equities will be hit harder if it deflates a bit.
Then I will be back...

Interim management statement is positive though some softening in organic revenue. The acquisitions have resulted in net revenue increase and the "modest progress" outlook remains.

"Given the Group's performance in the first quarter of 2013, the Board's expectation for modest progress in 2013 is unchanged from the time of the 2012 annual results' announcement in February."

Yes : I agree : as I've said before it's been under rated slightly compared with its peers and this should prompt a re-rating. It's interesting that while so many commentators preach gloom and doom (a cryptic reference to Stephanie Flanders !) sound companies with a good long term strategy (not least regional) continue to produce good results and remain optimistic about the future.

Highlights

· Headline margin improved from 15.0% to 16.6% despite European headwinds
· Headline operating profit up 14.4%
· Revenue growth of 3.0% (6.4% at constant currency)
· Continued strong cash generation, headline operating cash conversion6 of 113%
· North American network enhanced by £85m of acquisitions
· Dividend increased by 12.8% to 12.3p per share

Commenting, Stephen Harris, Chief Executive said:

"2012 has been another year of good progress. Growth in our global Aerospace and Energy business outweighed the decline in Automotive and General Industrial markets in Europe. Improving business mix and the part-year benefit of acquisitions have enabled further improvements in performance and enhanced the Group's geographic balance.

2013 has started slowly and we are mindful of the near term macroeconomic environment. Nevertheless, at this early stage in the year the Board expects modest progress in 2013.

Looking further ahead, the improvements made to the business in recent years give the Board confidence that Bodycote will continue to deliver good profits and cash through the business cycle."

=======================

The outlook statement is a little conservative but I like the ROCE (increased to 19% from 16.5%), cash flow and profit growth. Progressive divi too.

Yes me too , and have done very well over the last year or so with them : tempted by REL at the moment on that basis, but don't want to put any more into equities and don't want to sell anything either !
