Evening EI. I've only a handful of these and have been waiting to see how the car making slump had affected the company. Seem to have done well despite of the slowdown . Other than that, well diversified, quality management and high barrier to entry. I like the company and will probably add a few more on any pullback.

Hi Phil, listened to most of the results conference call yesterday. Very impressive. Only real negative is a high level of operational gearing in this business, any slowdown seems to have a disproportionate impact on the bottom line, as per the 2015 results year. In that respect would be similar to a stock like AHT or SKG. Would be interested to hear your take.

Investors Chronicle: 'Bodycote boosts margins' IC View Bodycote has proved a consistent income play over the past few years, this year offering an overall dividend yield of nearly 5 per cent. We think that the shares – normally well supported – are undervalued on the back of a general market movement, leaving them at 15 times forward earnings and at a discount to their two-year history. We move to buy. Last IC View: Hold, 1,028p, 27 Jul 2018 HTTPS://www.investorschronicle.co.uk/shares/2019/03/08/bodycote-boosts-margins/

Yes looking at the price those last few weeks. I'm sure we can find better chart guy than me. But apparently we are breaking it as we speak. Hope it's for long! J.

Losos - agree with you and yes their overseas earnings will be enhanced by the exchange rates. Don't hold BOY at the minute so I'm not pushing them but still follow them out of interest as they did well for me in the 80s when Joe Dwek was CEO through into the 90s with John? Chisholm I think from memory. Will keep an eye out for a dip and maybe get back in.

cheshire pete - I prefer if the company is not always in the media glare and subject to private investors whims. Overall the $/£ exchange rate must help them I think. Wish there were more companies like them.

Linhur, Seen this many times with BOY over the years. Strong institutional support for this quality company but suspect only on the radar of relatively few private investors and this may be behind the lack of comment. Maybe some comment tomorrow from press / city pundits.

Surprised no one has commented on the leap today in the share price. Increased concensus forecast of operating profit for current year of £133.1m and a range between £124.5 to £140m, AGM was very positive with executive directors strongly managing a forward move on revenue and operating profit.

Nice breakout, good fundies, new product, what's not to like? IMO BOY's re-rating has started. £10 just the first stop.
