When a share price drops 10%+ in a day and there is no corresponding 'news' the only thought you should have is 'great,I can buy some more'! It happens all the time with small/micro companies. you certainly shouldn't bail out and take a loss.
Utilitywise, UTW (another holding) dropped from £2.64 this morning to £2.20 (no news) I was happy to buy in again. Price has since recovered to £2.50+

You have to realise that prices get manipulated all the time. Any strategy doesn't always work, but if you have 'balls of steel' good profits can be made.

I am more than happy to hold Blur, and not concerned that the price has fallen away in recent times. My concern is what will the price be in 5 years time? Short terms ups and downs are meaningless, unless you specialise in Day Trading. Each to their own. It's your money. Make lots of decisions and accept that you won't always get things right.

Actually Ebay was a reference from one of Blur's customers, who referred to Blur as the Ebay of S-Commerce.

What I notice with spiteful posters is they never come up with any other investment ideas, they presumably just practice the British trait of bitterness and envy.

Sad old world.

A lot of fast money came in on the rise at the start of the year and that is currently leaving. Long and strong here!

come on this share has seen spectacular rises since Oct 2012!

with a small float it will lead to volatility

I am comfortable with my holding.

Perhaps there are numerous directors or non-exec directors who don't understand how valuations work either?

10 October 2013 Robert Brooksbank (Non-Executive Director) bought 35,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company on 9 October 2013 for the benefit of his SIPP and at a price of 429p per share.

9 October 2013 Philip Letts (CEO) has sold 900,000 existing ordinary shares today at a price of 400p per share and Richard Bourne-Arton (Non-Executive Director) has sold 95,000 existing ordinary shares today also at 400p per share.
Following his sale, Mr. Letts now has a beneficial interest in 14,100,000 ordinary shares, representing 47.58% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. Following his sale, Mr. Bourne-Arton now has a beneficial interest in 379,975 ordinary shares, representing 1.28% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.

Might be a good time to see some director buys to show their confidence going forward, although I doubt the 35,000 purchase above for a SIPP went into that pension expecting a loss in the years to come.

I must look at your old post again yump where you seem quite interested in BLUR

and remind you....sour grapes perhaps?

'
Its interesting that a few companies recently have caught investors attention with what appear to be ideas originating in 2000, that never got going and are possibly going to have a new lease of life, now the technology and commercial appetite appear to be there. Thinking of Blur and ATUK. The ideas of open project bidding via the web (Blur) and cloud procurement (ATUK) aren't new, but they are probably more appropriate now than back then.'

The number of projects being listed is fine, but the average value per project has collapsed this month. Hopefully just a soft patch.

Ebay ?
I've seen some cluelessness in my time but that's a good one.

I see there is some more 'volatility' today.

Perhaps the reason is that the business is now being measured, as against the 'story'. Are there really that many investors who don't understand how valuations work ?

I still believe this will get taken over by Ebay or similar in the not too distant future, making for a rather interesting each way bet.

with such a tiny free float it has big price swings on equally tiny volumes sometimes.
It purely comes down to whether you believe the story or not.imov

Companies which have just to make profits are always difficult to value. I think Blur simply got ahead of itself and now has come back to more realistic levels. Whether the next move is up or down is difficult to call. However, the 'story' hasn't changed. If you believe it, then stay put for the long term, even if you are currently showing a hefty paper loss. If you don't believe the company has vast potential, then you should have got out long ago.
Personally I think there is much to compare to another 'hot' stock, Quindell QPP which was heavily 'shorted' this time last year as people were 'encouraged' not to believe the figures. That has worked out well for those who kept the faith and I see similarities. With only 14m shares in 'free float' you are bound to get large price swings, its the nature of the beast. However, IF the figures do come good, there will be such a demand for the few shares available, then a multi bagger is not unrealistic.

Where's Sven 2006, think he bought at much higher level, well not o much, hope he's hanging on, see post 1181 PJ's, Letts stating some very exciting announcements to be made in Feb., he better get on with it, not much time left, on the matter of projects, since 27.01. only seen $4m. worth, what's happened to the bigger ones, all bread and butter, maybe better for the co. as percentages achieved on completion.
