There 70,000 people in the Axie Infinity telegram. Most seem like young adults from Asian countries. I read an article that said many from some poorer countries were able to play this game and earn more than 3x their weekly wage in days. That's probably the reason for much of the growth. Do a search on youtube. There's tons of videos on how to make money playing Axie Infinity. Some with near 1m views. And they aren't made by kids, it's a strategy game .. And no I didn't invest in whatever that thing is you mentioned. Never heard of it.

A market might be there, but if it just enables more unethical and unwanted practices and adds nothing anyone really wants is it sustainable?

Btw you can read about that first one here, which doesn't appear to be a 'game' anyone beyond the age of 5 would want to 'play'.

It's only just started nft gaming. Axie infinity has gone off the scale lately. Lots of battle royale type games being developed too.. even horse racing / betting like https://www.derace.io/ which their token launched last week and hit $100m m/c same day. Granted. Very new industry but maybe like Bitcoin in its early days, people dismissed it.
