21/5/2017 09:09 | EY touched on that at the CMD. They currently use three robot providers, of which Blue Prism is one, and they are introducing a fourth. | dan_the_epic
21/5/2017 07:34 | hxxps://www.thetimes One of the world’s largest consulting firms is planning to use apps and robots to do 30% of the workload of its employees. EY said it would automate tedious administrative tasks over the next five to seven years. This, the company claimed, would enable Millennials to become partners in their twenties — 10 years ahead of schedule. The company, which has 231,000 workers worldwide, has insisted the roboticisation of its business is not a ploy to axe thousands of jobs but to make its staff more efficient. “A lot of graduates are in the office until midnight adding information into spread sheets,” said Harry Gaskell, EY’s chief innovation officer for UK and Ireland “That knowledge is now in machines, so we can free up graduates to do more entrepreneurial projects.” Concerns are growing that large swathes of the British workforce could become obsolete as robots take over white-collar roles, as well as manual labour. Banks and other financial services companies have been shedding tens of thousands of staff as customers increasingly turn to online services. EY is planning to follow a similar path to British insurer Aviva, which asked its employees in February if their job could be better done by a robot. If the answer was yes, they would be retrained for another role. Research by Oxford University recently warned that 35% of jobs in the UK were at risk from automation over the next 20 years. A similar report by management consultant McKinsey warned that 86% of bookkeepers, accountants and auditing clerks could see their jobs taken by robots. | nimbo1
21/5/2017 05:05 | Having completed the half year and awaiting results let the guessing game commence on what the numbers could be (assuming the only way to value this is on a sales multiple): Trailing Year 2016, at £35m contracted revenue and £8 share price values the company at 14.4x "total contracted sales revenue". It looks like the half year could have doubled the new customers adding 87 new to 96 existing at 5 months in and 40 upsells compared to the 81 for full year 2016. So, let's say that's a double plus a bit for the half-year 2017 making £75m in round numbers. Valuing that at about 14 times gives £1.05 billion or an share price of going on £17. That's just the half year. Even if everything tails off for the remainder of the year a full year target of £17 looks achievable if, say, sales come in at £125m valuing at 10 times gives £1.25 billion or £20/share for the full year. The only glitch being whether the market is valuing at the half year or the trailing year. But at £8 I doubt whether it is valuing the full year 2017. On other assumptions £10 now looking achievable near term. But, for me, that's a double from here for the full year 2017. Cheers!! | sogoesit
