I've exited my tiny holding, before it winds itself up. Probably my worst investment trust holding ever.
Held since 1999 but only invested about £500 in the first place.....thankfully!
Some interesting macro commentary and some reasonable dividends.
Capital performance was awful.
Too high costs, too much trading and ended off buying tech companies at the top of the Everything Bubble. It's all over for Blue Planet!

Yes, they took a monumentally stupid decision to invest in technology story stocks just before the music stopped. It's always the last investors to jump on the bandwagon that lose the most. Funny thing is that they pride themselves on macro calls. Indeed some of their macro summary writing has been very interesting. Anyway, this is not looking too clever. They will probably switch into value stocks when they become the next hot thing in a few months time! Only have a tiny holding...thankfully!

A year ago on 31/8/21, the announced NAV was 31.28p

Today's announcement is a NAV of 14.18p



Absolute rubbish performance.

I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I bought this. I thought at the time a 10% yield and 20% discount was good but I'm down about 45% over 2 years. I actually think the fund manager reports show the thinking of a deranged fool.

Yes, they have some interesting macro views, but I don't think much of their stock picking ability. Costs are too high. I guess we would all probably welcome a winding-up at net asset value. I only have a few.

This really is a stinker of a share. High management charges, an ever sinking NAV, and now a lousy dividend. I have held since the early days, but of late years only because the value of the holding has diminished to the point it is really not worth selling, and hope springs eternal. Unfortunately, eternity looks to be about the realistic timeframe for a turnaround.

They are hyper-active fund managers so if they haven't sold BNTX already they surely will soon. That's their problem - over active!

The EEC is due to sign tomorrow a contract to buy 300 million doses of the Pfizer/BionTech anti-covid vaccine.

This is on top of the 40 million doses bought by the UK some months ago.

Great news for German BionTech whose shares are listed on NASDAQ

BLOODY WELL HOPE that Blue Planet haven't sold their end-October 2.5% portfolio holding in BioNTech which is up 25% today.....but the sky's the limit if vaccine approved.
