3 small-cap high flyers? Boohoo.Com plc, AFC Energy plc and Blinkx plc

Tough times
Meanwhile, online advertising specialist Blinkx(LSE: BLNX) continues to disappoint, with its shares being down 2% since the turn of the year. That's despite the company making significant progress with its restructuring and efficiency measures, with it reporting that over $40m had been eliminated from its annual expenses in its most recent update.
In spite of this cost control, Blinkx remains lossmaking. Looking ahead, it's expected to remain so in the current financial year and while its strategy seems to be sound and has included a successful rebranding, it may be wise for investors to await evidence of profitability before buying a slice of the business. After all, that's what the market appears to be waiting for and without a black bottom line, Blinkx may struggle to ignite investor interest over the medium term.

'Digital supply chain is infected’ and ad tech firms will die off warns Simulmedia founder...

"The ANA this week confirmed it would release two reports into transparency in the US in the coming weeks which are likely to have a global reaction with executives watching with interest to see what intelligence firm K2 reports on the controversial area of media rebates, credits and so-called “value banks”."

How is being 13th yesterday nowhere near 10th place maybe if we was 90th or 189th out of all of the ad tech websites that may be a bit of leeway in that statement but just 3 places is a gross exaggeration and he still can't find the quote that 1R will be in the top 10 now just suggesting they suggested, anyone that as the database of past posts which he pulls up on a daily basis going back years will be able to find where 1R said they would be in the top 10 and when we was in the top 10 a few weeks back the global views were only about 1.1b now they are at 5.9b global views

YuMe on the presidential campaign effect:

"I think we are - it’s a Presidential Election here as it was in 2012. I think I said before in 2012, we got about $6 million mostly in the back half of the year Q3 and Q4, so you get some senatorial local raises in Q1 and Q2, but it’s generally fairly small. And that’s the pattern that we seem to be following this year. The wildcard this year tends to be the fact that because of the presidential candidate flowing the way it is on the republican side, there’s been very, very little paid media; it’s been a lot of earned media. One of the candidates is not spending on advertising.

So we think during - as the Presidential Election goes along and nominations are confirmed, the national committee will start spending, so spend should reasonable or close to normal but at the moment, it’s a little bit unknown."

From SeekingAlpha transcript of last night's earnings call.

OK, fair enough. But that was my interpretation, not a statement from the company. I was arguing that if they were putting the number out so publicly (effectively marketing) then it suggested that they were confident that they would get back there.

you said 'they' are confident of regaining the top 10 spot..it could have been just your opinion but it came across as info you had from them or another source...

Quantcast rank as marketing.

IAB Programmatic Marketplace event is on in New York on Monday, with RhythmOne as a supporting sponsor and 7 RhythmOne particpants (including Dan Slivjanowski, Dwight Ringdahl, Sudhi Herle and Ken Napolitano).

If you go to the "sponsors" tab and click on RhythmOne you can read the para pasted below, which highlights R1's "top 10" ranking in Quantcast as evidence of having one of the largest supply footprints in the industry. On the public stats of course it has now dropped just out of the top 10, but I see this as evidence that R1 do believe Quantcast now serves as a shopwindow and they are confident that R1 will regain its top 10 position in due course. Together with Dan's recent reported comments on figuring in future pixalate rankings, this seems to me evidence of a creditable initiative to build the public profile of R1.

"RhythmOne connects audiences and brands across devices at scale. We maximize ROI by providing an efficient marketplace for digital advertising. With one of the largest supply footprints in the industry (top 10 according to Quantcast), our cross-screen programmatic platform, RhythmMax, provides a quality environment for advertisers to reach audiences at scale, across video, rich media, display, social and native ad formats. Furthermore, we take a very strong stance against fraud. RhythmGuard, our proprietary pre- and post-bid filtering technology, eliminates suspicious traffic before it reaches the marketplace – delivering the highest quality inventory to advertisers. Find out more at www.rhythmmax.io."

Ad tech is having a premature midlife crisis

"Such fragmentation gives rise to ad fraud and ad blocking. Advertisers are still spending millions on fraudulent impressions. Programmatic display ads attracted 14 percent more bot traffic than average while programmatic video had 73 percent more bots, according to Outdoor Advertising Association of America’s fourth-quarter 2015 report. And the same report shows that 40 percent of the world’s Internet users have installed some form of ad blocker, up from just 28 percent in mid-2015, fueled by concerns about being tracked and a Web-surfing experience bogged down by slow-loading ads."
