03/5/2016 20:57 | It was around 10% of fy2013 revenue...or approx $20m... search for 'tenth'.. gowlane 3 May'16 - 18:08 - 3166 of 3169 0 0 Moderate | Ban <...> SBM later quantified it during the presentation. Cannot remember now was it $20m or 20%? | sikhthetech
03/5/2016 20:48 | The audience reach would increase as the Presidential Election moved around the US Primaries... Likewise, as the Olympics kicks off, we should see an uplift in figures.. they should also pick up as the event draws to a close...or whilst the audience's favourite team are still in... Take Euro in/out vote... how many have already checked out sites offering opinions - a lot probably have but the ones on the fence???... I expect visitors to these sites to increase as we get nearer to the Euro in/out vote... | sikhthetech
03/5/2016 19:48 | A trading update can't be far away now. | value king
03/5/2016 19:21 | gowlane - it's about whether we would expect to see an uplift in Quantcast or comScore stats as a result of the elections (or Olympics). i.e. can we dismiss any pickup in these stats as being just because it's an election/Olympics year. I'm arguing not, or at least I can't see why you would see a link between the two, whereas STT seems convinced that we ought to be seeing an increase in audience reach because of these events. | 1gw
03/5/2016 18:08 | Is this discussion about whether there should be an uplift from the elections or not? I have just been looking at an old H1 report from FY 2012-13 "During the period, we also benefited from increased advertising spend allocated to specific events - the summer Olympics and the US presidential elections. These one-time events provided us with a better-than-expected boost to revenues during the traditionally slower summer months." SBM later quantified it during the presentation. Cannot remember now was it $20m or 20%? If I recall correctly though there was a bit of a hangover expected afterwards, but that didn't really materialise, quite the opposite. Maybe in the current situation, advertising budgets dropped in Jan-March waiting for the real election fireworks to begin later this year? That's what Blinkx does to you, always leaves you clutching at straws | gowlane
03/5/2016 17:52 | Geheimnis2 3 May'16 - 11:54 - 43262 of 43265 1 0 not sure that is true gowlane blinkx had always guided to a 40:60 H1/H2 split - so I think your post is misleading -------------------- Easily verified G2, its all there in the RNS releases Trading Update dated 29 Oct 2012 – ". . . The Company expects to report revenues for the first half of approximately $80m . . . . we anticipate revenues for the second half to be similar to the first half, resulting in a modest increase in our expectations versus consensus for the full year." Half Yearly Report dated 14 Nov 2012 - ". . . Overall trading remains in line with the comments made in our trading update of 29 October 2012 and based on our performance this period and the fundamentals of the sector, we remain confident in our outlook for the rest of the year." the guidance was for flat revenues in H2 Another snippet, this is when our old CFO Spira decided to step down for absolutely no evident reason . . . . hmmm . . . is that significant in hindsight ? . . . . whatever happened to him? | gowlane
