25/4/2016 09:08 | At the moment, just drifting off the back of a disappointing update. If I had stayed in I would be down 50%. A good forward statement would change that of course. The fat lady is not singing yet, but we're getting closer ... | alex1621
25/4/2016 08:57 | indeed Alex, but Barky (the investors friend, lol!), cannot count great analysis 1gw, but are you in danger of falling for this stock? | gowlane
25/4/2016 08:56 | As the share price continues to fall it is clear that unless this dreadful BOD produce some tangible evidence pretty soon of a turnaround, the large cash pile will be eroding fast. Not once in the past three years has the market given a big thumbs up to this motley crew. Time is fast running out. Any major stock market reversal will see the finish of the company. One is also left to ponder the current thinking and tactics of Tosca and RG. Surely time they took action. | leluot3
25/4/2016 08:35 | Nice start to the day.Won't be long till we hit £2.40? | kendonagasaki

24/4/2016 08:52 | Interesting that loops couldn't restrict herself to red ticking A lifetime of trolling this thread awaits! | geheimnis2
23/4/2016 17:48 | Strong warnings all round from respected economists that the Stock Market will crash in 2016. Plenty of évidence to support this. The market would fall by 50% or more. Blinkx could be at 10p or less at the end of the year - cash pile almost exhausted? Just something else to worry about! | leluot3
23/4/2016 10:07 | "the company can make a comeback but this is far from a given" You nailed it there Luafc, you get the feeling somehow that reputational issues are still killing us and that business is still walking out the door, despite what they say about switching old revenue streams off. You also have to conclude that advertisers are not fools and Blinkx has simply not been giving them the return on investment. With marginally more US reach, Criteo are able to monetise so much better than we can, generating $1.3bn revenue, 8 times as much, so seemingly a much better business model and a more trusted name. It will be a pity if the only people who do well out of blinkx in the end will have been the promoters, Lynch and Suranga, and much of that was from fraudulent traffic, but it has been a downward spiral ever since Edelman spilled the beans and a few notable punters on here of course, who were short! | gowlane
23/4/2016 09:41 | Interesting to see that the troll poo afc has fessed up to being failed investor striker5 Great shout barky | geheimnis2
22/4/2016 20:10 | BARKGOON and Gimp: Yeah, am Striker rebranded; blnx closed at 240. 1gw: Impressive and objective posting based on public facts. I think when blinkx publish you'll find the info limited to aggregate revenue and aggregate gross margin. Segmented analysis has never been the company's forte, constraining the scope for serious and helpful insights. Releases are IMHO limited in detail to disguise shortcomings of past performance and limited confidence in where they are going. The regular practice of management adjusted EBITDA to imply better performance raises a flag too. The company can make a comeback but this is far from a given. | luafc

22/4/2016 14:04 | I've put a post on the Interactive Investor board about the depressing trend in blinkx gross margins and a reference to the Alphabet (Google) results webcast last night which highlighted the trend of increasing traffic acquisition costs (TAC) as Alphabet moves towards mobile and programmatic. blinkx want to operate at scale. To do that, in my opinion, they need both great reach and good conversion (or monetisation) of that reach into revenue. Quantcast and ComScore are indicating that blinkx has pretty much got the reach part cracked (IMO). On ComScore they seem to have a bigger audience than they've ever had, at not far off 80% of the total (desktop) US internet audience. It is more difficult to judge their success with mobile reach from the public data, but I don't see why such good desktop numbers shouldn't broadly translate to good mobile reach as well. What Quantcast and ComScore don't tell us is how many ads they manage to sell to that big audience or what rates they manage to get for those ads. I think the Alphabet call (and the blinkx TU) is telling us that in all probability as blinkx accelerated its move from desktop to mobile and from traditional to programmatic in the Jan-Mar quarter, it saw a further decline in gross margin %, which more than offset any increase in the number of ads sold. In addition if they actually closed down some "non-core" business then this may have led to an overall reduction in the number of ads sold, even if "core" business was ramping up. Going forward we have to hope that they can indeed scale the new business quickly and so any further decline in gross margin % is more than offset by the increase in $ gross margin from the higher volume of ads sold. The May results webcast will hopefully shed some light on how probable that is. | 1gw

22/4/2016 13:24 | They did fail to monitise Jan and Feb.Interesting to see if March latter improved? | kendonagasaki
22/4/2016 12:45 | Alex, I think it's traffic... Whether that traffic is monetised is what counts. Then you have to consider the cost of the traffic. | lance corporal winstanley ash
22/4/2016 12:40 | I don't really understand the connection between these scores and sales and margins. Is one hit as profitable as the other? Are all hits monetised? I know the company recommended them but did not explain how they tie with their numbers. | alex1621 |
