Can anybody think of why somebody would exercise options sequentially as we have seen recently rather than in one go? I had thought they were exercising and selling to build up funds to hold shares at the end. But that doesn't make sense unless the options were all due to expire.

Another exercise of options:
Blackbird plc (AIM: BIRD), the developer and seller of the market-leading cloud video editing platform, Blackbird®, announces that it has issued and allotted 175,000 ordinary shares of 0.8p each in the Company (the "New Ordinary Shares") following an exercise of options on 4 June 2020. The exercise prices per New Ordinary Share were as follows:

The New Ordinary Shares have been issued pursuant to the exercise of options awarded to a former employee under the Company's existing share option scheme. Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the New Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM. It is expected that admission of the 175,000 New Ordinary Shares to trading on AIM will become effective on, or around, 10 June 2020 ("Admission").

Let's see now whether the shortened lead times and increase in interest leads to 3 or 4 of these in short time to prime the price prior to the OEM.

"The Regulatory News Service, or RNS, is responsible for disseminating regulatory and non-regulatory information on behalf of UK businesses and publicly listed companies. Operating as part of the London Stock Exchange (LSE), the RNS provides businesses with information that can help them to comply with their disclosure obligations."

RNS information is that which must be disclosed under LSE Rules. All other disclosures, including by definition RNS Reach disclosures, are non-regulatory ie Non Reg.

So the Whisper deal is worth less than 10% of turnover and falls short of being a mandatory RNS disclosure but is nevertheless considered significant by BIRD hence they used RNS REach.
