30/1/2020 17:34 | Chris Not sure if you know what OEM means | nickb
30/1/2020 17:20 | If you think that Xytech is an OEM when it has no presence as a Cloud owner and employs less than 250 people as compared with Amazon the acknowledged Cloud leader, which is presently estimated to employ 750,000 worldwide, you are going to be in for a a big disappointment. IM said plainly in the VOX interview that what they had been doing up to now was providing taxis in London but his aim was to be an important part of the building of every taxi. The vision is that BIRD will be supplied by the big Cloud companies as part of their offering not as an off the peg "buy it if you want it". That's why it will make shareholders rich. When Vodafone floated over 100 people in Newbury (its HQ) became millionaires overnight. So the question is "Do you sincerely want to be rich?" That's what IM is offering and I believe that's why he is so heavily invested. It's the reason I put my money in and currently own more than most of the BoD. | chriscallen
30/1/2020 17:04 | "Our partnership with Xytech is perfectly aligned with our strategic OEM model for Blackbird as we gain further market adoption in the key US market and beyond." From IM. | bonio10000
30/1/2020 17:01 | I stand corrected if TownNews is an OEM like AWS, Microsoft, Google, Comcast and the real Cloud players. Each of the big players could buy Lee Enterprises out of their daily petty cash. TownNews is like Bloomberg, the US State Department, Deltatre, MSG and the many other large and good clients but not an OEM. They use the Cloud but do not own and control it. In their own words " Xytech is the leading provider of facility management software solutions for today’s media and broadcast companies." They are not an OEM in IMs own definition of the term. How big is Xytech compared with AWS, Google or Micosoft? Well on the net it says it employs less than 250 people and appears to be privately owned. It is probably a very good company but it will never make BIRD a valuable company... indeed in a couple of years BIRD should be many orders of magnitude bigger. | chriscallen

30/1/2020 16:30 | Interesting view point but glad I don’t see it like that. Oh “ there is no sign yet of an OEM actually signing up to using BIRD as a component of its Cloud offer.’ TownNews is OEM | nickb
30/1/2020 16:26 | NickB On the evidence so far 30-36 months minimum. IM has been in place for over two years. He took 6 - 9 mths to sort out his strategy and who he wanted. From May 2018 to now is 20 mths and there is no sign yet of an OEM actually signing up to using BIRD as a component of its Cloud offer. Plenty of nice things being said but no deal with an OEM and worse apparently no deals with the customers who are signing up for the OEMs Cloud services in very large numbers - except perhaps the State Dept though I think that's probably more down to our US friends getting a foot in the door directly. So a deal in the latter part of this year will have taken over 30 mths. Lets hope they are running at least 3 (IMs "several")side by side. But I still think IM can do it though that is faith rather than evidence based. | chriscallen
30/1/2020 16:00 | Expecting OEM deal announcement/s for NAB show. Pretty convinced on one industry name | nickb
30/1/2020 15:59 | £5m? | bonio10000
30/1/2020 15:55 | I agree one of the best and with skin in the game with family money. Mcsean once announced he could build a Blackbird video codec himself ...we are still waiting. | nickb
30/1/2020 15:37 | McChief is one of 3 of the best chiefs on AIM. And as long as he and SS hold big, I keep on adding when necessary. I buy for future of BIRD. My last PPS buy was just under 7p last year before it superboomed once newsflow was released so am happy to wait for McChief to prepare the stage in the background prior to the next wave of news this year. | noobiedoobie
30/1/2020 15:07 | Mcsean What would you say is the lead time to get technology into an OEM? I’d say 12-18 months | nickb
30/1/2020 14:21 | Cc, I think you have summed up reality very well. I'm now into my 5th year as a bird holder. If there's one thing they're good at, it's fundraising! I was not happy with ims interview, I got the feeling he is only just realising what a difficult market he's in. | mcsean2164

30/1/2020 13:50 | bonio If they haven’t made global domination in 4 years then they certainly should give up! | nickb
30/1/2020 13:48 | Chris You are entitled to your view but it’s not the way I see it. Never been more bullish | nickb
30/1/2020 13:41 | Maybe they can relaunch Eva? | bonio10000
30/1/2020 13:17 | don't have a problem with raising additional funds so long as it is at £1 per share - which it could be with the right commercial delivery | geheimnis2
30/1/2020 13:05 | Well IM has got my vote. I’ve never been more confident. Loved the VOX interview, and IM would not be on there encouraging people to invest if he had any doubts about the future prospects for the BIRD. Topped up again this morning off the back of it. Showing as sells. IMHO. | cabi1
30/1/2020 11:59 | NickB Nobody invests in BIRD today for revenue or even yesterday looking at the sea of red. What I fear is that the train has left the station as shown by AWS, Microsoft and Google's increases in Cloud revenue. BIRD despite what everybody, including your good self, says about its product and the fact that it looks like a world beater, has not as yet benefited from it. Indeed in the Vox interview IM would not answer the question of when BIRD would break even (understandable since it is price sensitive information which should be released on the LSE first) but he was also very evasive about the cash pile and I was left thinking another placing was definitely not ruled out. BIRD has a grisly history of broken promises and setting expectations only to disappoint. IM I think has turned this around but it's a hope rather than a fact based in financial performance. Until the £s start rolling in the market price won't be aligned to BIRDs real potential... but looking on the bright side a good time to invest if they do deliver on the vision. | chriscallen
30/1/2020 10:01 | Chris To me that’s a strange way of looking at it! For shareholders they have developed and built a Cloud video editing platform technology that has made many industry professionals go WoW For shareholders they have been successful at building the foundations of the future success of Blackbird technology to possibly becoming a global standard. Just about every media company in the world will most likely buy into Blackbird. All that is very hard to do and in reality they have done it at a fraction of the cost it would have taken larger companies to do if they even had the technology. If you are investing for today’s revenue then you should not be here All imho | nickb
