Frameio doesn’t video edit it’s a plug in to traditional edit software to help with collaboration/review.

Never heard of IIUC What’s that?

Intriguing, cab|1. I see Forescene are mentioned as well as Blackbird. I assume we are not marketing both. Frame.io comes top by a whisker, but with only one voter. IIUC it gets adulation for its tools for community editing, rather than for speed of editing. Probably mostly aimed at creating low budget films, advertising videos, etc, where final content is all important, and speed of creation not critical.

I've no idea how important this listing is, but my guess is 'not very'.

Which is the dichotomy between the interview and being told we need money for more sales staff.

I listened to the interview and the key point he made was that the wins so far are good but they are to interim customers. The focus now is on OEMs which he defined as Cloud providers and Telcos who will sell BIRD as part of their products - he said that the analogy was that up to now they had been running a fleet of taxis in London whereas BIRD wanted to be integrated into the car manufacture. So the strategy continues to be to get the interim customers to buy it from the likes of Amazon, Microsoft and Google as part of the package.

The OEM strategy limits the need to employ sales and marketing people and all of the support costs such as travel and exhibition attendance.

true, b - however they do wish to scale up their cost base plus agree with nick - they need to be in a strong financial position to secure contracts

OEM is the best way to scale which could be global scale.

Probably can’t sign A list large contracts without a good chunk of money in the bank.

Oh - and the idea that we will be a tech company using others to resell doesn't quite add up with needing more staff to secure deals.

Will be interesting to see if the UK reseller network filters through into any numbers for 2019.

Agreed.

But they know more than we do and it is them who decided £8m in the bank was needed.

b - i think any other comment on profitability would be market sensitive so i doubt he would share with Vox

in addition, until the contracts are in the bag, it is difficult to be certain

the bit about "thinking" the fundraising will allow a "path" to profitability still suggests that cash might take a while to arrive.

Problem is nobody listens to that channel.

They would be better wording a decent statement with the finals.

The Vox presenter is hilarious though.
