26/1/2008 12:43 | COAL prices rising according to FT... | mw8156
21/1/2008 12:47 | In for a 1k @ 272p. Given the insatiable global demand for coal, I think there is significant mileage here. | azalea
05/1/2008 18:28 | and they need to secure more reserves. pegusus has gone on far to long for my liking and i would not bet on it happening. | bisiboy
05/1/2008 14:15 | only potential problem is the election of jacob zumo.... | mw8156
29/12/2007 09:15 | Well we have our year-end figure. $96 and steady! Negotiations for 2008 contracts should be completed at record prices. Second half coal earnings should be quite exceptional. It is true that the property portfolio will have taken a knock this year, but that is an unrealised non-cash adjustment to NAV which will be recouped in future years. The coal earnings are real cash, and right now cash is very definitely king. If coal remains strong ($70+) 2008 should see the BISI share price hit new highs, if Bisichi is not taken out before then. Happy New Year | skyracer
06/12/2007 19:11 | Is it my imagination, or is coal back as an investment theme? ATH Resources has broken out today and Bisichi looks set to do so also. Not much wonder when one sees the increase in the price of coal in recent months. I've long been a fan of/shareholder in Bisichi because of the asset backing from their property interests. But now we see rising coal production at a time of high prices. That probably explains why Barclays are so keen to get involved, coupled with this company's strong record in fair racial policies. The future looks genuinely rosy, and the company deserves it, having taken such a responsible attitude to the death of a worker last year. | stewacg
30/11/2007 21:56 | i have a very good feeling about these if only they can aquire more reserves | bisiboy
30/11/2007 17:58 | I getting vertigo. $103 !! Apart from the record coal price, the fundamentals are falling into place for Bisichi with strong demand for thermal coal from China and particularily India. | skyracer
23/11/2007 20:00 | Phew. Thought it couldnt get better, but RBCT coal at $93 now! If Ninghi Marketing cant exploit this they need their butts kicked from one end of RBCT to the other. Even more, 2008 futures are now over $90, perfect timing for the annual export contract renewals. | skyracer
20/11/2007 08:52 | Investment partners and access to funds. This is good news. New reserves are becoming available from previous holders who have not used them. BISI set for further growth. Amazing the market has not reacted to this. The next news will be acquisition of new reserves. | skyracer
10/11/2007 11:24 | if they can secure extra reserves i think this could double but it seams to be taking an awful long time. | bisiboy
09/11/2007 17:13 | $84 now. I assume the rise is linked to the price of oil, so will fall back a bit eventually, but the link makes BISI a strong long-term buy. | skyracer
26/10/2007 17:15 | This is incredible. RBCT coal now $79. Only two months to year end. | skyracer
12/10/2007 17:32 | RBCT coal now $69. Second half coal earnings could be exceptional. | skyracer
09/10/2007 23:13 | If you are valuing this on EPS then you need to strip out the property revaluation, IMO. The property makes it hard to value though, also there isn't that much info on it. While the property is not irrelevant I think it is a distraction. The bottom line is that the coal business is producing a record result, the outlook is good/excellent and the chance of a decent deal seems high. Good bullish article about coal prices: | sammu
09/10/2007 10:34 | Note that 2/3 profit in 2006 came from an increase in the value of investment properties. If that is not matched this year (and it seems unlikely that it will be), it may be difficult to match last years EPS. (If property starts to fall, which it could, things become even worse!) | uncleoswald
25/9/2007 08:40 | These are good results but they are comparing apples with pears - 2006 had significant mine downtime due to the accident. Look at eps. If things continue then we may only match the 2006 eps. Pe of about 12-13 now which is about right, could be higher I suppose. A good dividend will probably be payable. | wassapper
25/9/2007 08:25 | Yes, great results. We just need the transforming deal that has been talked about for some time. I'm sure one of their opportunities will come good - just a matter of continued patience being required. | topvest
25/9/2007 08:23 | These are outstanding results. They bear the hallmark stamp of managerial excellence. BISI not only have a strong grip of the sales and marketing levers of their business, but demonstrate a clear understanding of the elements and interactions of their production process, and the workings of their value chain. | skyracer
21/9/2007 23:01 | this will move on the results one way or another my money is on north | bisiboy
21/9/2007 17:47 | Mmm, interesting. RBCT coal now $63.7 | skyracer
22/8/2007 09:39 | (last paragraph) Richards Bay export price holding up well at $59.7 (17 Aug). | skyracer
20/8/2007 18:10 | cant be long till some news | bisiboy
23/6/2007 14:26 | Dont like the vague reporting; LAS' annual report says cost overruns on the Windsor shop development and Bisi's report refers to unspecified problems with the bee directors; I think they could be a lot more specific. | mw8156
23/6/2007 10:09 | RBCT export price now risen to $58. | skyracer |
