17/9/2018 14:03 | It's interesting to see that they have all moved in tandem recently. A share of future increased profits is well rewarded I expect in the hope that expectations are met, or exceeded going forward. I am sure BQE will exceed hisotical expectations but feel the share price has got ahead of its self a bit. The recent tip, and indeed the recent confirmation of that tip has, I think, pushed this too far and the TMF article airs on the side of caution. As you say you never know but I have a feeling that come end of year results at current levels there may be a correction. Now that's not to say this is not a good company - wished I had seen it early 2018 if not before! | countless
17/9/2018 08:23 | Countless,on the plus side, the market seems to like over achievers - see PRSM and ACSO and I certainly don't think they have any where near exhausted their potential market, so I guess you never know! | bbluesky
16/9/2018 07:31 | I think BQE will beat expectatations too, however those expectations wereset months ago. I think the article was drawing attention to the need to be cautious as the share price has increased 60% since last reviewed by TMF site. In these situations the expected profit must now show a significant increase to warrent the current share price and therefore the TMF team state they frequently dissapoint as the increase does not match what has happened in the market. I would have thought a period of consolidtion is due now. I will get a mouse as this tracker thing is driving me made and I keep ending up on porn sites! | countless
15/9/2018 23:09 | Thanks countless. Re banking some profits, I have already done that a while back but ended up wishing I hadn't! In my experience a company only says it expects to beat expectations when pretty sure of that so BQE almost certainly will do imo. Re laptops I use a cordless mouse as I can't stand those tracker pads! | bountyhunter
15/9/2018 07:30 | The Motley Fool had an article on BQE yesterday folks. You should be able to find it via Google but in short it states 'having positioned itself for more predictable revenues and higher quality earnings, it now expects to exceed analyst predictions on full-year profit. The only downside to this is that the shares look even more expensive than before (tipped at 342p with a gain of 60%). At 45 times forecast earnings before today, investors will need to be very confident that BQE will keep its word. While I would not necessarily dispose of the stock just yet, it does pay to remember that high expectations frequently result in eventual disappointment'. If I was a holder and noting that momentum is falling I would bank some profits or at the very least protect them. Have to say I like the TMF website for info. Always balanced. BH i have a few interesting links for your new BB will post when not on laptop (not sure how to cut and paste without a mouse!) | countless
11/9/2018 06:47 | This share keeps on giving. I think someone is building a stake. Good luck to all holders. | countless
07/9/2018 17:40 | approaching yet another new high?! | bountyhunter
03/9/2018 09:23 | Thank you bountyhunter. I just cannot see what will add significant turnover to justify current valuation. IC increased EPS to 12.5p so something needs to radically change -hence my thoughts of a new customer like the NHS when I first came across BQE. No doubt it's a well run company with no debt and medium term I can see a take up in its more specialised products but I think the share price has run away with itself. Saying that I will not try another short -learnt my lesson on that one. Off to find your new thread now. | countless
03/9/2018 07:57 | A quick look at the results shows that "most of its revenues are generated from overseas customers" and "Bioquell's products and services are sold by wholly-owned Bioquell organisations in the UK, USA, France, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, China and through a network of international distributors" so BQE is not too dependent on UK NHS or private hospitals fortunately. Also it's encouraging that "with respect to profitability, the Board believes that the Company will exceed current market expectations for profit for the full year" so that may be driving the share price growth right now. I'll need to look into the details further but no time right now unfortunately! To find my FTSE thread just type FTSE into the EPIC code box at the top right of the page and you should find it (since no one is likely to check UKX). | bountyhunter
03/9/2018 07:02 | Thanks bountyhunter - I would be interested to learn where they think the growth would come from - perhaps private hospitals but then that is also limited but less so in terms of purse string? I will see if I can find your new FTSE thread which may help me with this years 'Santa rally', which seems to have been strong for the last four years. Will it do the same this year? | countless
03/9/2018 06:50 | Hi countless, you raise some valid points especially re the NHS. I'd have to check back to results to see the breakdown is sales but I don't recall too much revenue coming from the NHS due to the reasons you mention so there may not be a high expectation of any immediate growth there. Thanks for the PM - the article raises some interesting points and it's interesting to note that it suggests a downturn is not due just yet but could not be all that far a way. I'll read it again more carefully later. Incidentally I've just started a FTSE thread as I want to keep a close eye on the FTSE index as well as the DOW and oil price going forwards. Cheers, bh | bountyhunter
02/9/2018 21:38 | I have sent you a PM bountyhunter because I was not sure if Money Week would be happy with me summarising their article to the whole world! Interesting article from Investors Chronicle - strange how share tipsters regurgitate stuff. I noticed Frontier Tech Investor increased their up to purchase price to £5.50 last week because of the momentum. My view is that a market cap of £128m cannot be supported with an expected profit of £3.5m - that's a whopping 36.5x especially because I think BQE will struggle to significantly increase their turnover. Their HPV product will not take off in the NHS even though it may be the gold standard. What they have sold to the NHS to date is pitiful - mainly because the NHS is bust. Why buy an expensive machine that pumps out bleach when good old elbow grease will do. Their other products are very specialised to the extent I do not think it can significantly increase turnover in the short/medium term. Five years away when cancer research is at a different stage then perhaps unless the competition moves in. The share price has raced too far ahead of itself. Best of luck to all though. I was wrong with my small short but think my logic here is sound. | countless
02/9/2018 17:25 | Looking back at the recent BQE results I am now thinking that the share price strength of late may be simply building on those "bug busting" results: | bountyhunter
01/9/2018 10:18 | Yes that's right it was Gas back in Thatcher's era. PET I forgot about where I also took a loss but only a small one as I had already diversified across sectors by then with mainly large caps but including a few of the more risky O&G and biotech companies. 'Plunge' as in market crash? October can be a dangerous month in that respect. | bountyhunter
01/9/2018 09:29 | The first government privatisation? I have taken very early retirement from the NHS so thought I would try and educate myself so I can manage my dosh and I am enjoying the education. I get Money Week and this week's main article is 'Prepare for the plunge', so will let you know if there are any pearls of wisdom because like you I think things are getting a bit tippy. My main failure was PET! Still we live and learn. | countless
01/9/2018 08:38 | Lol! I've been investing since the 'Tell Sid' days so have made plenty of mistakes and hopefully learnt a bit from them. You may need to Google that if you are young enough to have missed it! Recent successes for me have been BQE OXB SQZ with disasters in VER and before that AFR and GKP (although that last one is still going but hugely diluted). Before that I saw Oilexco shoot up then collapse after which I decided on the diversification across several sectors strategy to reduce risk and have had a less stressful (investment) life since then because of it! Having said that if the market collapsed I'd still get clobbered and do wonder if it's getting a bit tippy and maybe I should switch to cash for a while but hard to do. | bountyhunter
01/9/2018 08:28 | I like that idea bountyhunter. Now who said 'experience is what you got when you didn't get what you want'! | countless
01/9/2018 07:59 | live and learn I guess, most of us have made the same mistake, I stopped making geared investments a long time ago now due to high risks and rollover costs, now I diversify across different sectors and just hold and wait! | bountyhunter
01/9/2018 07:18 | Well that was an expensive lesson for me and one well learnt regarding my small short. Never seen anything like this before and still fail to understand where all the extra turnover will come from to support BQE's current value. Their very specialised products, although impressive, to my mind can't generate the vast increase in profits to warrant the valuation. The trend is up and I was silly to bet against it so good luck to all holders. | countless
31/8/2018 19:02 | Very much delighted with the performance of the sp, it may retrace a bit , but that's to be expected. | modform
