don't be taken in by it, they don't include the spread, stamp duties or commissions for starters, not to mention that by the time you see their 'signals' it can be too late to take any action if indeed they are issued at the time the prices are as published

British Bulls says "BUY" now; not that I take any notice of these "signals" as I said before! If only trading was really that easy, which is why I buy and hold instead.

Good luck with your holding. Thought I would put my money where my mouth is and now have a small £10 a point short, which is my first ever.

I think that the ADVFN/LSE method is the textbook way of doing it reflecting on recent financials more accurately although it's horses for courses at the end of the day It would be helpful if the normalised EPS growth figure said it was normalised or was quoted in addition to the standard figure as quoting other figures would provide clarity rather than leading to confusion.
I'm glad that sell signal was wrong as I ignored it and often these sell signals appear after a drop which makes them too late to act on in any case!

I am surprised this has bounced back as I cannot see how their expected turnover justifies the share price. I thought I would share the full email as I found it hard to fully understand without getting the books out to help!

Hello,Thanks for getting in touch. The reason for this is due to which EPS figure is used. ADVFN appears to be using the basic reported EPS, which has risen from 1.23 to 10.8 as highlighted below. Out EPS Growth is based on normalised EPS where ADVFN is using basic reported EPS.EPS Normalised is calculated on a Diluted Normalised basis, i.e. taking into account options and other sources of dilution and any unusual/one-time/special items in order to better reflect underlying results.I hope this helps,Oliver--Oliver from StockopediaOn Mon, Aug 20, 2018 at 09:08 AM, "countless" wrote: Hello. Can you please tell me why the EPS Grorwh % figure for BQE is different on your platform and that of ADVN. ADVN have a EPS growth figure of 794%, which is confirmed on the London stock exchange website - your figures are different. Thank you for your help. Keith

I agree that advfn net debt figures can be out of date

Yes that's the one I gave above. I have emailed Stockopedia and asked to see if they can tell me. I know you cannot rely on the net debt figure on ADVN and that is often very different to latest audited accounts. Will be good to learn why Will return when I have an answer.

not sure but LSE and ADVFN do pretty much agree for the latest EPS growth rate
EPS Reported and EPS Normalised will be different from EPS growth rate

I wonder why the EPS growth figures are different -the EPS Reported and EPS Normalised figures on Stockopedia are also very lower than 794?

I agree about charting signals but think they are helpful when taking other factors into account. I would not rely on them alone either.

Clearly charting signals cannot be relied upon or if it was that easy we would all be very rich. In my experience some of the time they are right and some of the time they are wrong but there is a better chance of a signal being correct when the market cap is larger and there is more liquidity, although even then it wouldn't be wise to rely on charting signals alone, imho.
Re EPS growth LSE gives 794% as the most recent figure which is almost identical to the ADVFN figure.

Of course it would be difficult to maintain such a high figure this year and I'm not expecting or suggesting that but it may account for the share price rise since financials were reported.

As for charting signals I do not yet have sufficient skill to agree or disagree, but from what I am reading it seems any market can be reviewed but perhaps you need to change the time frame when faced with limited movement ie weekly instead of daily. I did this and a direction in trend is still flagged. However, I am very new to charting and still learning, however it is an interesting study. I just had a look at stockopedia as I was interested in the EPS rate growth rate of 792%. ADVFN confirm this but stockopedia has the following for EPS Growth:-
2016 +118.7 2017 +125.3 TTM +21.2 2018E +25.4 2019 +13.1 TTM = training twelve month data and is taken from latest information available
This makes more sense as I am not convinced BQE can rapidly increase turnover, which I would have thought would be required to ensure profit growth?

Thanks countless. I'm just a little sceptical about charting signals in relation to a company with only a modestly sized market cap (105m) and limited liquidity such as Bioquell.

I think I'll hold for now in case there is something we don't yet know about underlying the recent rise. Also EPS growth rate 792%

Just had a look at the chart more closely. on 16 August a bearish reversal pattern occurred called a Doji, the following day's trade confirmed the trend has changed.

It was tipped recently by Eoin Treacy of Frontier Tech Investor. I think he has to produce a tip a month for his followers. Energy / healthcare / tech advances are his thing. As with most tipsters hit and miss. Hope this helps.

An interesting read, very specialised indeed. To my mind Biomedica needs to ramp up turnover to justify current market cap.
