21/9/2016 10:11 | Sorry to hear that bamboo2, more sales from the EBT confirmed this morning. Still 409k left to sell if that's the plan. | battlebus2
21/9/2016 09:18 | Stopped out. :( | bamboo2
20/9/2016 18:13 | Disappointing to see the share price fall today, but above all some patience will be needed here imo. This is a nice solid 'hold' for me through into the full year results and beyond. It was already flagged that Q1 was weak so i actually thought that the results for the half year were very good taking this into account. I've not seen any broker estimates but we know that H2 will be strong. With 11.7p eps already declared i have 15p penciled in for the second half (think i am being very conservative here too) which adds up to 26.7p for the year as a whole. So PE is single digits at least. | cfro
20/9/2016 16:33 | First buy yesterday morning was at 271p. Since then there have been a lot more Buys than Sells plus a decent trading update. The last Buy close to the end of the day was at 261p. Seems to be being held back for some reason? | martinthebrave
20/9/2016 08:20 | Morning all - agree with comments above Looking forward to FY given outlook and comments in the recent TS SJ | sailing john
20/9/2016 08:09 | Solid results with second half prospects looking particularly busy due to the very strong order book. Dividends were doubled at last full year to 6.0p, but there policy is to pay dividends just once a year, yet expecting a healthy increase at the full year due to the strong cash generation. | interceptor2
20/9/2016 07:48 | Yes very healthy results considering first quarter was weak. They are saying that H2 will be very busy. | cfro
20/9/2016 07:42 | Agreed. Everything seems to be on track. I particularly like the outlook statement - "Billington currently has the longest forward order book, in relation to capacity, in the Group's history, and the strength of this provides the Company with confidence going into the second half of the year". | martinthebrave
20/9/2016 07:26 | Excellent results and even better outlook, strong cash balances and a 6p dividend, very pleased indeed.... | battlebus2
16/9/2016 18:16 | Well I reckon that rare period of liquidity is drawing to a close now, over 70% of the equity is not in public hands so the September Sale by the EBT has been very welcome, I'm up to my maximum comfortable position size at an average way below what I thought I'd have to pay after the Trading Statement recently , all about the results any day now. Hope they're good because I think I'm locked in ... | rhomboid
16/9/2016 16:50 | Good finish | bamboo2
16/9/2016 16:49 | Cheers Martin, looks like the overhang is cleared with a 208k possible buy at 270... | battlebus2
16/9/2016 12:48 | Just bought in on the pull back. Looks like we already know that there will be good news before the end of the month, it is just a question of how good? Encouraging to see you on here BB - normally a good sign imo. | martinthebrave
16/9/2016 12:10 | Is this a better investment than Severfield or are they very similar?. BILN does not have any issues with bolts flying off its structures or the drag of a non-performing Indian operation so maybe a better bet? | meijiman
16/9/2016 10:22 | Seems to be a little weakness so I'm guessing more EBT shares to be sold. Still unclear why. | battlebus2
15/9/2016 21:33 | Roll on the results and we'll see what; "The Group's performance has continued to improve during the first half of 2016 and the order book has continued to strengthen, providing good visibility beyond the end of the current financial year. Furthermore, good early progress has been made at Shafton Steel following the acquisition of the site in December 2015. As a result of the above, the Board anticipates that results for the year to 31 December 2016 will be significantly ahead of current market expectations." Amounts to in terms of Profits, Cashflow and , most importantly almost, Outlook. | rhomboid
15/9/2016 21:06 | Held back from adding, not sure why but will wait to see how she settles, could be more EBT share sales. | battlebus2
15/9/2016 16:11 | I believe the funds sit in the EBT until the trustees are formally informed that an eligible beneficiary has qualified for a grant of shares, at that point they either issue shares held or buy in the market. It seems there is plenty of liquidity I bought a chunk well inside the offer both this morning and this afternoon | rhomboid
14/9/2016 21:11 | Never fully understood EBT shares, who or where does the proceeds go to?? | battlebus2
14/9/2016 19:23 | Well that explains the liquidity I've been buying into over recent days...thank you EBT! | rhomboid
14/9/2016 19:19 | Ah found a link: "Problems and undesirable PAYE charges can also arise if trustees acquire and 'earmark' shares before making awards to employees. Furthermore, if warehoused shares have risen in value, the trustees may have a taxable gain. Offshore trusts in reputable jurisdictions, such as the Channel Islands, can some be appropriate. It is absolutely essential that specialist advice is sought." hxxp://www.rm2.co.uk | rhomboid
14/9/2016 19:16 | The rules on EBT's are tightening up and it may no longer be possible to hold "surplus" shares that are no going to be issued in the current financial year through the year end without risk the tax shelter afforded to the scheme as a whole. I'm no expert and would love a more expert view though! | rhomboid
14/9/2016 18:49 | Don't know what on earth the employees trust are doing selling shares. That can't be acting in the employees interests i wouldn't have thought bwdik! I don't know if anyone else has noticed but these days virtually every structure that goes up from new schools/academies to office blocks, apartments to Asdas, Lidls etc they are all built using a steel structure frame which goes up in a matter of days.. Just look around, these steel structures are everywhere. | cfro
12/9/2016 13:26 | I bought a few more this morning, I'm expecting a very positive results RNS and in a tightly held stock I can see a major re-rating occurring, if not I'll content myself with whatever the raised dividend is and let my holding weeble about as the market dictates! | rhomboid
12/9/2016 13:04 | Surprised to see us drop a little especially looking at the trades quite a few seem buys but hey ho results are coming :)) | battlebus2 |
