Bigblu broadband has been Awarded preferred partner status with Eurobroadband Infrastructure (“EBI”) for the launch of new European superfast broadband services.

Under this preferred partner status, EBI (a subsidiary of Eutelsat – one of the leading leading European Satellite operators) will provide satellite network capacity, as well as subsidise hardware, installation and marketing costs. BBB will promote and sell satellite broadband services while managing all activities related to subscriber management including installation, billing and support.

This now enables BBB to launch superfast broadband across Europe with:

* Low upfront costs to the end user
* Download speeds of up to 50mbps (faster than many fibre broadband connections)
* No data cap on downloads.

Andrew Walwyn, CEO of BBB, commented:
"We are delighted to be selected as preferred partner by EBI to offer a truly next generation satellite broadband offering in Europe, which is an amazing foundation for the growth of Bigblu.

“The investment EBI is making in this new superfast 50 Mbps product is a gamechanger for BBB and our customers alike. I’m therefore very excited that this proposition addresses many of the challenges satellite broadband faces with a fantastic offering that will deliver a service superior to most people’s wired broadband at a similar price point for the user.

“By working closely with our partners, we will be able to further demonstrate our industry leadership across Europe, underpinning our belief that we will deliver strong organic growth next year and beyond.”

I've noticed that with these smaller companies the shares can drop until someone notices and the volume suddenly soars as bargain hunters come in.The director purchases seem to have highlighted the discount relatively quickly.

Seems appropriate to bring to attention of pi's on this thread to another company that provides telecomuncation services to SME's...who is Toople(TOOP), which is a fast growing service telecoms provider(broadband,etc)...well worth the effort of doing some research.

I see that FTC is rising with excitement over 5G. BBB are beginning to offer trial broadband over 5G networks, and there may be some convergence between broadband and mobile. 5G will require an increase in density of phone masts.

Also from today:

The roll-out of the agreement with EBB has commenced and is now live in five territories, comprising Norway, Poland, Sweden, Finland and Spain. Significant work has been undertaken in setting up these operations with Viasat and Eutelsat Communications, recruiting local teams, onboarding installation partners, developing the reseller networks in each region as well as aligning pricing frameworks with market conditions. The Board expects further progress under this agreement throughout the remainder of 2018 with planned launches in Italy and Germany as well as increased marketing effort in the five existing regions.

Bigblu Broadband’s half year report reveal the satellite provider grew its EBITDA 37% yoy to £2.8m in the six months ending May 2018, having already confirmed that its revenue increased 20% to £25m in a trading up date issued last month.

Net cash generated from operating activities increased by £3.1m to £2.2m, and the Bicester-headquartered company’s European expansion program added around 21k customers across Italy, Germany, Austria and Portugal via its acquistisions during the period.

Perhaps more signficantly it was also awarded a £2.1m grant under the government backed Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) scheme to conduct field trials of fifth generation (5G) fixed wireless broadband technology over TV “whitespace” frequencies, a foundation that should bring its services in reach of more potential customers in the future.

Bigblu is a rare example of a small UK satellite provider focussed on delivering continental as well as domestic wireless broadband coverage through acquisition and partnerships with Viasat and Eutelsat European Broadband. Though we don’t think the likes of Vodafone will be too wary of its competitive threat just yet, we think neutrals will be watching the company’s progress with interest.

'We are therefore confident we can deliver significant shareholder value over the remainder of the current financial year and beyond.'

This snippet from today's results may be one reason for optimism.

'BBB is already benefiting from an increase in customer numbers and revenue with increasing traction through the EBB agreement. Accelerated revenue growth is expected through fully funded marketing and the European joint venture's expertise in sales management and product delivery.'

They're targeting 150k customers by 2020 and they quote 37% customer growth and 123k end users in the period but that was before the Australian disposal of 11k customers.

So real customer count is ~112k, can they increase that organically to 150k by 2020? I'm not a holder, have them on watch since reading an IC article.
